On the occasion of the 13th anniversary of Falun Gong practitioners’ peaceful protests opposing the persecution in China, many United States Members of Congress sent letters to express their support for Falun Gong practitioners’ tireless efforts to end the persecution. US Senator Patrick Toomey from Pennsylvania wrote the following letter in support of Falun Gong practitioners’ grand public rally in Washington, DC, opposing the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong. He said in the letter: I continue to strongly believe the United States has an obligation to speak out against the oppression of Falun Gong practitioners in particular.

US Senator Patrick Toomey of Pennsylvania

United States Senate

Washington, DC 20510

July 12, 2012

Dear friends,

As you attend this important rally, I commend you for raising awareness about human rights abuse in the People’s Republic of China.

Like you, I am concerned about reports of Falun Gong practitioners in China who have been denied their freedom of belief and expression. As a proud cosponsor of Senate Resolution 232, I continue to strongly believe the United States has an obligation to speak out against human rights abuses by the Chinese government in general and the oppression of Falun Gong practitioners in particular.

I send my warmest wishes for a wonderful rally.

Sincerely,

Pat Toomey
U.S.Senator
