Recently reports about the persecution of Falun Gong began to appear in the Slovakian media. Only a few people, however, realised how inhuman and cruel this persecution is. To help more people understand this, Falun Gong practitioners in Slovakia tour a few Slovak cities every year where they inform the public about the genocide against Falun Gong and ask for support in calling for an end to these human rights abuses.
At the beginning of August, Falun Gong practitioners from Slovakia and Czech Republic visited a few cities in Slovakia called Dolny Kubin, Ruzomberok, Brezno, Roznava, Trebisov and Michalovce. They gave out leaflets and demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises. The public could clearly see the stark contrast between the peaceful and graceful exercises, and the atrocities committed by the Chinese Communist Party which is responsible for this persecution.
Many people thanked us for the information. Especially in eastern Slovakia, where the social situation of the people is not so good, we found more support for our petition to end the persecution. We met also city representatives and informed them about our activities. Although some people defended the regime in China, after they learned the facts about the persecution of innocent people, their attitude changed and they whole-heartedly supported us.
The media in most of the cities reported on the activities including the TV news in Dolny Kubin, a newspaper report in Ruzombersky Hlas and TV coverage in Zemplinsky Dennik Korzar and Michalovska.
