Ms. Cao Yue, a practitioner from Acheng City, Heilongjiang Province, was arrested twice. She was tortured by police and hung from a bedpost. After she was released in 2002, she was very weak and often had severe stomachaches. She passed away in September 2005.

Ms. Cao Yue was an employee at the Dilun factory in Acheng City. Because of hepatitis, pharyngitis, rheumatism, hypotension and other ailments, she had difficulty working and doing housework, and often contemplated suicide. After she practised Falun Dafa, her ailments disappeared, and she became healthy in both body and mind.

Jiang Zemin's faction began to arrest Falun Gong practitioners on July 20th, 1999. On the eve of the Chinese New Year in 2000, the police arrested Ms. Cao for the first time, because she still practised Falun Gong. She was taken by officers from the Chengbei Police Station in Acheng City to the Second Detention Centre. She was verbally abused and beaten with a broom, a plastic tube, and a leather belt, while cold water was poured over her. She was hung by her handcuffs from a window casing for five days. Thirty-six days later, she was released after paying a bail bond of 5000 yuan1.

Ms. Cao was arrested again and sent to the Second Detention Centre for doing the Falun Gong exercises in the morning. The police officers said that she disrupted public security and transferred her to the First Detention Centre. She went on a hunger strike to protest. Director Sun, the prison doctor, and doctors from the city hospital force-fed her rice soup mixed with wine, and unknown substances. She was detained for over forty days and had to pay a bail bond of 3000 yuan.

Ms. Cao tried to go to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Dafa. Many local practitioners were going. Her identification was withheld by the local police and she was intercepted and taken to the Acheng Detention Centre on February 19th, 2000. Wang Weimin, director of the Chengbei Police Station, extorted 2000 yuan from her husband without providing a receipt.

Ms. Cao was sent to a forced labour camp for two years. She was held in the 12th Division of the Wanjia Forced Labour Camp. During her detention, she was not allowed to study the Falun Dafa books or practise the exercises, and she was then subjected to being "transformed2." Seven female practitioners were sent to a men's prison. They were monitored by the guards from the men's prison. They were hung by handcuffs, tied to a bedpost with a rope, or made to squat on the cement floor. At night, they slept on the floor near an on-duty prison guard. Liu Hui, the leader of the 8th Division, said that the female practitioners would be sent to a cell of male inmates, who could do whatever they desired with them. Ms. Cao was tortured for eight days.

Because she refused to be "transformed," to write a guarantee statement3, and to recite the prison regulations, the prison guards hung Ms. Cao and other practitioners in a "small cell" and shocked them with electric batons. Dafa practitioners were tortured both physically and mentally. She was tortured at the men's 5th Division. Two directors, Chen Shi and Wang Deng, participated in the persecution.

When her term ended, she was not released. The term was extended to January 18th, 2002, because she did not "transform." During her detention in the forced labour camp, her company withheld her pension for the year of 2001. She was paid only 150 yuan in living expenses in 2002. She did not receive her full salary amount until March 2003.

After Ms. Cao Yue was released from the forced labour camp, she was very weak, and often had severe stomachaches. She passed away at the end of September 2005.
