As the Olympics Approach, The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Committee of Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province Issues Document on Persecuting Falun Gong

The 2008 Summer Olympics is approaching. On May 23rd, 2007, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Chaoyang City Committee in Liaoning Province and the Chaoyang City Government issued a joint secret document [Chaoyang City CCP Committee's 21st of 2007] about the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong. They made 290 copies and issued them to all county and municipal government and governmental agencies. The various governmental entities are required to hold meetings and study sessions to carry out the directives in the document.

The title of this document is "Announcement from the City Committee Office Disseminating the 'Strategy to Restrain Falun Gong Reactionary Propaganda in Chaoyang City.'" On June 21st, 2007, two police officers from the Qianjin District Department stormed into Falun Dafa practitioner Zhang Yuwen's house. They forcibly took Zhang Yuwen to the Qianjin District Police Department, and then to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Shenyang City. They had to release Zhang after the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp refused to accept the practitioner.

The police extorted five hundred yuan from Zhang's family, saying that it was to pay the "cost for transportation to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp."
