This article was smuggled out of the Fushun City's 2nd Prison by two practitioners who had been detained there and recently had the opportunity to meet other fellow practitioners. Now this article has been submitted to expose the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

On June 20th, 2003, my wife (also a practitioner) Liu Cuiping and I were shopping in a supermarket when the police arrested us. The violent action drew attention from many people nearby. I shouted, "Falun Gong is good! It is not a crime to practise Falun Dafa!"

Afterwards, the police threw us into a small vehicle and drove away from the supermarket. We were locked up in a small dark room in the Tiexi Police Branch of Shenyang City. They closed the door and shut the curtains then started to torture me for the next 4 days around the clock. The torture included punching me, kicking me, threatening me with a dagger, burning my fingers with a lighter, piercing my finger nails and toe nails with needles, depriving me of sleep for 4 days straight, hanging me up with handcuffs which caused the cuffs to cut into my flesh and my hands became swollen and numb. They mocked me by saying, "We are bandits. We are robbers. So what are you going to do about it?"

Then they transferred me to the detention centre where the environment was filthy. Each detainee had to pay 200 Yuan1 to buy the following: a blanket made of very low grade cotton, living necessities, and food at prices several times higher than normal. They also used some inmates to manage others. It happened frequently that the inmates in charge would beat, curse and abuse others. It was a hell on earth.

One day after the month of May, the Tiexi District Court of Shenyang City put us on trial and assigned an lawyer to us without our consent. During the trial when the judge asked the lawyer, "Do you have anything to say on behalf of the defendant?" The lawyer replied like a reflex, "None." The judge then asked me, "Do you have anything to say?" I said, "I am a Falun Gong practitioner and I must tell the truth." Then I continued to tell about the violent interrogation I went through at the Tiexi District Police Branch of Shenyang City. The judge just listened without saying anything.

Afterwards they said to my wife, "Since you and your husband are a close couple, you should take partial responsibility for your husband." While I spoke out for justice and explained the facts about Falun Gong and the falsified propaganda by the CCP controlled media, the judge did not say a word. In the end, I was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment and my wife 4 years. My wife was sent to the Liaoning Province Women's Prison.

Since that time, my 10-year-old child has had to live with his grandparents who are in their 70's. When they visited me in prison, I noticed my parents had become more and more senile. My child's helpless look in the eyes broke my heart. In China there are so many practitioners who have similar sufferings as mine.
Currently, we practitioners detained in prison are manifesting the wonderfulness of Falun Dafa. We are keeping up the effort of dispelling the communist party propaganda about Falun Gong to the prison guards and the inmates and exposing the evil of the persecution. The majority of the guards and inmates already understand what Falun Gong is. Some of them have publicly expressed sympathy to us practitioners and disapproval of the persecution. Some of them have even shown an interest in learning Falun Gong.
