Two Falun Gong Practitioners Detained in Chishui City, Guizhou Province

In mid July 2011, four Falun Gong practitioners were arrested by the Chinese authorities. On July 22nd, Ms. Li Wenyu and Ms. Li Zerong were arrested while they were speaking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were followed by plainclothes police officers after being reported. All three of them had their houses ransacked. Ms. Li Wenyu and Ms. Li Zerong are currently detained at an unknown location. In 2006, Ms. Li Wenyu and Ms. Li Zerong were persecuted in the Zhongba Forced Labour Camp of Guizhou Province. -
Doctor Zhang Qianying Detained for Nearly Two Years in Beijing Women's Prison
2011-08-18Under the control of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) a Beijing court sentenced practitioner Ms. Zhang Qianying to prison for talking to people about the truth of Falun Gong. In 2009, Ms. Zhang was incarcerated at the first ward in Beijing Women's Prison. Because she continued to keep up her belief and practice of Falun Gong, she was treated harshly by the prison staff. Li Xiaona, warden of the first ward, instigated the inmates to maltreat Ms. Zhang by depriving her of sleep for many days, forbidding her to shower or brush her teeth, even restricting her use of the toilet. -
Ms. Zhang Li Severely Beaten and Held in a Cage at Heilongjiang Women's Prison
2011-08-17Ms. Zhang Li is being held at the No. 11 Prison District in Heilongjiang Women's Prison. On June 9th the guards transferred Ms. Zhang to an isolation ward in the Heilongjiang Women's Prison Hospital (also called the No. 10 Prison District for sick prisoners), because her firm belief in Falun Gong encouraged other practitioners. She was severely beaten and held in a cage. A practitioner asked Zhao Huihua, the president of the hospital, “Why do you put Ms. Zhang in a cage?” Zhao Huihua answered, “She has mental problems.” The practitioner said, “Ms. Zhang doesn't have any mental problems. We got to know each other in Mudanjiang City. Just because she didn't transform [forcibly renounce Falun Gong], you do that to her?” -
Older Falun Gong Practitioner Li Changfeng Persecuted in Brainwashing Centre
2011-08-17Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Changfeng , 61, was arrested by police and Communist officials on July 10th. She was taken to Jingyang District Hexing Town Brainwashing Centre. Li Changfeng passed out after three hours of intense persecution in a brainwashing session. Li Changfeng firmly believes in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She has been persecuted numerous times by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) members. She was once persecuted to the point of critical condition. -
Five Falun Gong Practitioners Sentenced in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia
2011-08-17Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Ren Suying and Ms. Yang Guizhi were sentenced to prison terms recently, while Mr. Yu Shulin, Ms. Ren Suxiang and Ms. Yang Guihua were given labour camp terms. A few days ago, Ms. Ren was sentenced to five years in prison and taken to the First Women's Prison of Inner Mongolia for further persecution. Ms. Yang Guizhi was the principal of Wujia High School in Yuanbaoshan District. She maintained her faith in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and was subsequently removed from her position, and then forced to work as a school gate guard. Finally, she was removed from her guard position for practising Falun Gong. -
Disabled Wang Xiaolian Imprisoned for Over Nine Months
2011-08-17Disabled Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Xiaolian and her daughter Ms. Wang Pei were taken to the Anping County Public Security Bureau Detention Centre on the afternoon of October 15th, 2010. Ms. Wang Pei returned home after she had paid a fine. On June 15th, Anping County Court held a secret court proceeding during which they sentenced Ms. Wang Xiaolian, without attendance of her family or her attorney. A month has passed and her whereabouts remain unknown. -
Tianjin Factory Owner Mr. Li Xiwang Died as a Result of Persecution
2011-08-16Mr. Li Xiwang was a factory owner. He and his wife Chen Liyan were arrested on December 21st, 2010. After being held in the Hexi Detention Centre for more than six months, Mr. Li was transferred to the Gangbei Prison (the name has been changed to the Binhai Prison). On July 29th, two police officers came to Mr. Li's relatives' home and declared that Mr. Li “had died of sudden illness after an emergency treatment failed to save him” in the early morning hours that same day. Mr. Li's wife Ms. Chen Liyan was subjected to a one-year forced labour term, and is being held in the Banqiao Women's Forced Labour Camp in Tianjin. -
Disabled Practitioner Mr. Wang Anping Recounts the Persecution He Has Suffered Over the Past Twelve Years
2011-08-16After the nationwide persecution began on July 20th, 1999, I was arrested numerous times because I insisted on having my belief. My home was also ransacked many times. I was sent to a brainwashing facility, put into a forced labour camp three times, and fired from work. In Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp guards poured cold water on me in the winter. I had to sit motionless on a small plastic stool to do forced labour. If I moved a little, I would be beaten with a stick, leather belt, or electric baton. We started at 7:00 a.m. and finished at 6:00 p.m. We would be beaten whenever we slowed down a little. -
Ms. Wang Jixiu, a School Teacher from Mengyin County, Shandong Province, Repeatedly Arrested and Tortured
2011-08-16On July 20th, two Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Wang Jixiu and Mr. Zhang Mingxia, were arrested for practising Falun Gong. The police ransacked Ms. Wang's home, confiscated her personal collection of Falun Gong books, and took away her car. Ms. Wang was arrested in 2001 and sent to the forced brainwashing facility. A group of guards forced her left hand to the ground to make her squat on a pile of ashes, while they punched and kicked her in attempts to make her tell them whose home she had been hiding in. She was forced to squat on top of a pile of ashes in the middle of the winter throughout the night. -
Mr. Fu Chengyou Has Been Homeless for Nine Years, His Family Members Harassed by Police
2011-08-16Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Fu Chengyou, from Bayuquan District, Yingkou, Liaoning Province, has been homeless for nine years in order to avoid further persecution. On June 28th, police from the Liaoning Domestic Security Division harassed Mr. Fu's son at his house and demanded he tell them his father's whereabouts. After Mr. Fu's family refused to tell them anything, the police began to monitor his family's daily activities. -
610 Office Officials Interfere with the Judicial Process as Mr. Huang Liqiao Sues Tianjin Pipe Corporation
2011-08-15Officers from the Dahutong Police Station in Hongqiao District and the security department of Tianjin Pipe Corporation forcibly removed Mr. Huang from his workplace and took him to the Hongqiao District Police Department on April 20th, 2008. He was sentenced to two years in the Shuangkou Forced Labour Camp without any legal proceedings taking place. Mr. Huang filed a lawsuit against Tianjin Pipe Corporation at the Dongli Court. Although the court accepted the case on June 21st, 2010, they kept delaying the proceedings. As soon as Falun Gong was mentioned during the hearing, Judge Sun Zhaomin became visibly nervous and said, “This case is too sensitive. I cannot take responsibility for the decision. I need to keep my job.” Then Sun repeatedly demanded that Mr. Huang delete the words "Falun Gong" from his statement and threatened not to open the court session if he did not do so. -
Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) 610 Office Operates above the Law
2011-08-15One day in 2006, police broke into my house and ransacked it. They told my wife, “You have to come with us.” She asked, “Where are we going?” They replied, “To the police station.” They then forced us to go with them. I was taken to the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). One police officer asked, “Have you participated in any gatherings?” I said no. Then they sent me to a detention centre. After I was held for more than twenty days, the 610 Office agent told me, “You are being sent to a forced labour camp.” I asked, “Why? What evidence do you have that convicts me? On what legal basis do you send me there?” He would not answer my question directly but just sternly said, “Even if you do not say anything, we will still sentence you.” -
Ms. Song Guixiang from Qingdao Arrested Again
2011-08-15On June 24th, 66-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Song went to the Jiaozhou City Police Department to request a visit to see her Falun Gong practitioner daughter, who had been sentenced to seven years in Jinan City Women's Prison, and to demand the release of her husband, who also pracises Falun Gong and was arrested on March 23rd. However, they refused to respond to her requests and she was pushed out of the building. Ms. Song started to shout, “Falun Gong is good,” in the yard of the police department. Police beat her and then dragged her into a police car. She was taken to Sanlihe Police Station. -
The Persecution of Ms. Luan Guirong and Her Family
2011-08-15After practising Falun Gong, Ms. Luan Guirong recovered from severe arthritis. After the persecution began in 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was detained and subsequently dismissed from her job. Her husband was an employee at Jiamusi Forced Labour Camp. Because he delivered daily necessities and clothing to practitioners, he was persecuted, and subsequently passed away in 2001. -
After Five Years of Imprisonment, Practitioner Shao Chengluo, a Doctor of Chinese Medicine from Shandong, Is Critically Ill
2011-08-14Mr. Shao Chengluo has been a doctor of Chinese medicine for over 20 years. He is a very skilled doctor, is kind-hearted, and is highly respected by local villagers and patients. Nonetheless this good person was sentenced to a seven-year prison term by the Chengyang Court because he practises Falun Gong. He has been imprisoned since July 21st, 2006 in the Shandong Province Prison, and has been tortured relentlessly. As of March 2011, Mr. Shao Chengluo was emaciated, his body functions had declined, and he was critically ill. His family was refused visits for nearly three years.
