Director of the Xi'an Police Station Is Prosecuted for Beating a 73-year-old Practitioner

Relatives of Ning Bo, a 73-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, are trying to sue Zhang Minghiang, the director of the Xi'an Police Station, because he brutally beat Ning. Zhang Mingjiang threatened that he would put the old man in prison as retaliation. Ning Bo, badly beaten, is now being held at the County Detention Centre and his family members are forbidden from seeing him. -
Wang Chengbiao Subject to Weeks of Sleep Deprivation
2004-08-19Wang Chengbiao was put through an extended period of sleep deprivation. He was forced to keep in a squatting posture for extended periods, even when he was eating, and not allowed to go to the toilet. Meanwhile, they organized a group of collaborators to try to coerce him into renouncing his belief. Sometimes, this kind of torture would last for over 50 days. Due to its long term application, it can be much more systematically traumatizing than physical torture which lasts for a shorter period of time. -
Changchun Practitioner Li Zhiyong Near Death from Persecution in Jilin Provincial Prison
2004-08-18Changchun Falun Dafa practitioner Li Zhiyong is detained in the Jilin Provincial Prison. He presently suffers from a serious kidney problem, brought on by the persecution. According to medical experts, it is virtually unheard for a 26-year-old man to develop such a severe kidney problem within ten days or so, unless he was hurt in a car accident or was severely beaten to the point of unconsciousness. On May 18, Jilin Provincial Prison authorities informed Li Zhiyong's family that he was ill and his life was in danger. Two months have passed, but Li Zhiyong is still being detained in the prison. He is presently on the verge of death. -
The Husband of a Dafa Practitioner in Hebei Province Describes the Hardships the Persecution Has Brought to His Family
2004-08-18My wife is a Falun Gong practitioner, while I am not. After July 20, 1999, the police from Shenzhou City have come to harass my family many times. They have broken into my house and ransacked it and have abducted and detained my wife illegally. They also fined me 885 yuan. During my wife Li Bo's detainment, I could hardly take care of my family. My 14-year-old daughter is paralyzed and bedridden and my 11-year-old son is a student. The heavy burden of life all weighed down on me. -
Private Prisons Set up in China to Persecute Falun Gong Practitioners (Photo)
2004-08-18While former Chinese president Jiang Zemin was still in office, he abused his power and huge proportion of China's national resources to build private prisons to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. These prisons were usually set up secretly. Now, almost every county and city in the nation has such prisons. The "610 Office" is directly in charge of these prisons, whereas judicial and legal departments often administer regular prisons. Such private prisons are often mislabeled as "Legal System Education Classes" to deceive the public. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Ms Deng Jingping from Chengdu City of China Has Been Tortured to Death
2004-08-17Falun Dafa practitioner Deng Jingping was a 42-year-old lady from Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. On March 13, 2004, she was arrested by Chengdu City Police and sent to a detention centre. After five months of torture at the detention centre, Deng became mentally disabled. She was then sent to Qingyang People's Hospital. At 12:30 p.m. on August 11, 2004, she died in the hospital. -
Further Information Regarding the Death of 55 Year Old Female Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Xu Fuzhi from Heilongjiang Province
2004-08-17So far, seven Dafa practitioners in Mudanjiang City have died as a result of torture. Nearly 600 practitioners have been sent to the Jianshan Prison, the Harbin Women's Prison, Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Centre, Mudanjiang City Detention Centre, the Forced Labour Camp, the Mental Hospital. The authorities responsible for these deaths are all from the Mudanjiang City "6-10 Office," from the Aimin Court, other courts of the city and people from the police department. The practitioners were subjected to torture in all such locations. -
The Persecution of Practitioners in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Liaoning Province
2004-08-17On August 8, Ms Wang Wenjuan was brought to the first floor and handcuffed to a heating pipe. She was handcuffed there day and night for an entire month until finally a guard handcuffed her to the bedside. From then on she was able to rest on the bed, but remained handcuffed, sometimes with one hand, sometimes both. One day, Team Leader Zhang Yan was annoyed seeing her sitting on a chair and said maliciously, "It is too easy for you to sit. Get up. Don't sit there. Stand up and stay standing until this evening." -

2004-08-16Words from Vicious Police Officers Who Threatened Dafa Practitioners that Dared to Protest Against the Persecution: Policeman Bai Shuwen (to a female practitioner): "I have all the means to deal with you. If nothing works I will put you into male cells, and let you ..." -- followed by a series of crude verbal abuse. Policeman Xu Enjiang (while force-feeding): "You won't let me [do it] easily--I will force the food in you until you are dead! What can you do to me? ..." Then he forces the food she spit out back into her mouth again and says, "You are opposing the Party; Let's see...Who can prove that I beat you? Where are the bruises?" -

Taiwanese Citizen Strongly Urges the Liaoyuan City Police Department to Immediately Release his Wife, Practitioner Ms. Xiang Lijie
2004-08-16Taiwanese citizen Mr. Yang Jingyi, husband of Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Xiang Lijie of Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province, is strongly urging the Liaoyuan City Police Department in Jilin Province to immediately and unconditionally allow his wife to return to Taiwan to reunite with her family. Ms. Xiang and Mr. Yang have been married for 10 years. Ms. Xiang, was sentenced to three years of forced labour without any legal grounds on February 5, 2001. She was then sent to Changchun City's Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp, where the police tried to force Ms. Xiang to give up her belief in Falun Dafa. -

2004-08-15Wang Xia, a young lady from Linhe City, Inner Mongolia. Wang, 30-years old, was sentenced to 7 years in labour camp for telling people about Falun Gong. In the past two years, she conducted hunger strikes to protest persecution and was force-fed. The prison authorities also injected her with unknown drugs. Before she was detained, she weighed more than 120 pounds. She now only weighs about 45 pounds and lapses in and out of consciousness. -

Guards in Baoding City Forced Labour Camp Forcibly Feed Excrement and Urine to Falun Gong Practitioners on Hunger Strike
2004-08-15In the Baoding City Forced Labour Camp, the guards have been severely persecuting Falun Gong practitioners who are firm in cultivation. To protest such inhumane torture, detained Dafa practitioners went on a hunger strike. The guards then adopted even more vicious torture methods: force feeding with the feeding tube extending to the stomach, force feeding human excrement and urine, force feeding concentrated salt solution. -
Outstanding Teacher and Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Tang Jian Was Tortured to Death at the Shuangkou Forced Labour Camp
2004-08-14Dafa practitioner Tang Jian was 39 years old and had graduated from the Physics Department at Nankai University. He was working at the Jialingdao Middle School. Tang Jian was sent to the Shuangkou Forced Labour Camp in 2001 for practising Falun Gong and held for one year, during which time he was tortured and his sentence was extended. He was released in July 2002 when he was on the brink of death. He was arrested again in September 2002 and tortured to death on July 7, 2004. His body was covered with bruises and scars at the time of his death.
