  • Germany: Human Rights Picture Exhibition ‘Field of Shame’ held in Germany

    From October the 26th to the 31st, international human rights organization IGFM held a human rights persecution picture exhibition entitled “Field of Shame” which was displayed in Nord-Rhein Westfalen, Dusseldorf and Gelsenkirchen. Pictures and articles about Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted in China were part of this exhibition, which was held on the eve of Chinese Communist Party leader Hu Jintao’s visit to Germany.
  • Italy: Italian Media Pays Attention to “Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance” International Art Exhibition

    "Italian Falun Gong practitioners decided to hold an art exhibition in a hall in Andorno...The paintings are of great delicacy and beauty. Through their artistic creations the artists attempted to illustrate a spiritual world: goodness and beauty of a heavenly world can be pursued through meditation and upgrading one’s inner world. Artists used techniques of realism to depict the brutality of torture and the suffering inflicted on the persecuted by Jiang Zemin."
  • Sweden: Foreign Ministry Expresses Support for Falun Gong Practitioners in China

    "Thank you for your letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, dated May 2nd...As you might know, human rights issues in China are frequently brought up in discussions with our Chinese counterparts, during our many contacts, both from Sweden and from the EU. For example, every sixth months we have within the EU a special human rights dialogue with China, where we go through an extensive agenda and bring up all the areas where we feel a strong concern regarding how human rights issues are handled in China."
  • Romania: People in Timisoara Support Freedom and Human Rights in China

    On October 5th 2005, a seminar with the title “The Collapsing Red Wall” was held in Timis Court in Romania’s second largest city, Timisoara. The seminar attracted great attention from local media, human rights organisations, academics, students and residents. Romania’s State Television carried a live interview.
  • Sweden: Practitioners Introduce Falun Gong at a Health Fair in the City of Kungalv

    From October 28th until November 1st, Public Health Days 2005 took place in the city of Kungalv, Sweden and many activities connected to people’s health were organised. Among other things, a Health Fair was arranged on October 29th and 31st. More than thirty different organisations took part in the Health Fair and Falun Gong was invited as one of the exhibitors. We received a very good and prominent location in the middle of the hall.
  • Germany: Falun Gong Practitioners Write to MPs Asking for Help to end the Persecution of Falun Gong

    "To avoid domestic criticism and international condemnation against the persecution, recently the Chinese Communist regime has taken a softer approach against Falun Gong in the mass media. Though the recent taciturn has replaced intensive attacks in the past, the momentum of the persecution against Falun Gong has never abated whatsoever. Judging from the Chinese Communist regime’s propaganda, on the surface it seems that everything is back to normal, but for the one hundred million Falun Gong practitioners in China, the terror is still there as usual."
  • Bo Xilai Sued in Spain for Genocide

    On November 8th 2005, 15 practitioners who were persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for their practice of Falun Gong have retained lawyer Carlos Iglesias to file a suit against Chinese Commerce Minister Bo Xilai in Madrid's High Court. Bo is charged with committing the crimes of genocide and torture during the persecution of Falun Gong.
  • Germany: German and French Practitioners Urge the German President to Tell Hu Jintao: Falun Gong is Good

    On November 10th, Hu Jintao arrived in Berlin on a four day visit. German President Horst Koehler met Hu and his delegation at Schloss Charlottenburg. Before the meeting, President Koehler got off his vehicle and talked with groups holding appeals outside the building. A practitioner asked the President to tell Hu: Falun Gong is Good!
  • United Kingdom Media Report: With the Largest Banners, Falun Gong Called for the Release of Practitioners in China

    Several UK media, including the BBC and The Times, reported that China’s President Hu Jintao was greeted by protests on his arrival to the UK. Excerpts are reproduced here.
  • Broadcast by Radio France Internationale: Former Chinese Police Officer and Diplomat Discuss the CCP's Persecution Against Falun Gong and Human Rights Issues in China (Part 1)

    On October 24th and 25th, RFI (Radio France Internationale) broadcast an interview conducted with former Chinese police officer, Hao Fengjun and former Chinese diplomat, Chen Yonglin regarding the persecution against Falun Gong and human rights issues in China. RFI’s programme “France and Europe”, which was broadcast to Asia on October 24th, covers the first part of the interview.
  • Belgium: Practitioners Hold a Press Conference to Update the Progress of the Lawsuit against the 610 Office

    On October 21st, Falun Gong practitioners held a press conference with famous Belgian human rights lawyer, George Henri Beauthier, who gave a status report on Falun Gong practitioners’ lawsuit against the “610 Office” on charges of telephone harassment. Hao Fenjun, the former 610 officer who has defected from the CCP, attended the conference.
  • Radio Free Asia: German Society Concerned about the Jiang Renzheng Case

    "Prior to Hu Jintao’s visit to Germany, the organisation engaged in the rescue of Mr Jiang and his German friends have stepped up their rescue efforts. As to the latest development in this case, according to a German human rights organisation that has long been concerned about Jiang’s situation, they have called on the Chinese authorities concerned to release Jiang and let him and his family members return to Germany as soon as possible, so that Jiang’s case would not affect Hu’s state visit to Germany."
  • German Member of Parliament: “I Assure You that We Will Continue to Fight for the Release of Renzheng Jiang.”

    Jiang Renzheng, his wife and two small children were deported to Beijing from Würzburg (Germany) in March 2005. Following his deportation, Jiang Renzheng was sentenced to three years of forced labour and is now being detained in a labour camp in the city of Benxi because of his Falun Gong practice and the attendant accusation of “endangering public security.” His wife was forced into hiding because of her imminent arrest.
  • Report in Belgian Newspaper: Chinese Spies in Europe

    "Falun Gong practitioners held up banners in the street and I found that they were innocent ... At one time, I witnessed a woman over fifty years old taken to the office. She was brutally tormented and beaten by my colleague. Her back was beaten black and blue with his baton. I was petrified because when I talked with that woman, I realised that she was not dangerous at all. I caught a lot of criminals; this woman was not a criminal."
  • United Kingdom: Practitioners Call for an End to the Persecution as Hu Jintao Visits England

    Falun Gong practitioners from the UK and Europe appealed near London’s Buckingham Palace to call on Hu Jintao to stop the persecution of Falun Gong. They held banners worded, "Bring Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Liu Jing and Zhou Yongkang to Justice", "Hu Jintao, the time that Heaven and the people give to you is limited" and "Stop the persecution of Falun Gong."
