Ms. Kang Aimin Arrested by the Jiamusi Police

On March 9th, 2009, police from the Heilongjiang Province Public Security Bureau and the Jianshe Police Station broke into the home of Ms. Kang Aimin's son and forcibly took Ms. Kang away. Under the direct order of the Heilongjiang Province Public Security Bureau, the Jiamusi Police Department arrested more than 20 practitioners with the excuse of searching for those who set up speakers to broadcast the facts about Falun Gong. They also listed the names of Ms. Kang Aimin and five other practitioners that were wanted. Since the persecution of Falun Gong began, Ms. Kang has been repeatedly harassed, arrested, detained, tortured, and financially persecuted by the local police. -
Mr. Li Yukun of Zhucheng City Died As a Result of Persecution
2009-04-02For eight years, Mr Li Yukun suffered inhuman persecution at the hands of officers from the Zhucheng City Police Department and the Xiangzhou Town Police Station. In 2008 Li Yukun went to Qingdao City to visit his uncle. In the railway station police officers checked his ID card and then arrested him. The officers called the local police station and Mr. Li was taken to a nearby school. The officers asked him if he was still practising Falun Gong. Mr Li refused to answer as they wished, so the officers flew into a rage and intensified the persecution against him. As a result, he was devastated both mentally and physically. On August 14th, 2008, he developed heart problems, and on August 16th, he passed away. -
Older Practitioner Mr. Xie Wutang Suffered Inhumane Torture in Wuling Prison in Hunan Province
2009-04-02Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xie Wutang, 69, was recently released from the Wuling Prison in Changde City, Hunan Province. While incarcerated, he developed several illnesses, including tuberculosis, a dislocated lumbar vertebra, high blood pressure, vertebral and cerebral arteriosclerosis, severe oedema, muscle spasms, and chest pains. He was so ill that he could not walk without the aid of a crutch and felt sick most of the time with a frequent urge to vomit. In addition, Mr. Xie's lower teeth had been knocked out by officers from the Yongzhou City Police Department in 2000. Since that time, Mr. Xie has had great difficulty in chewing his food properly. -
Mr. Lu Yonghe Arrested in July, 2008 in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, His Whereabouts Still Unknown
2009-04-02Mr. Lu Yonghe was sentenced to two years of forced labour in the Nanning City Forced Labour Camp in 2001. Because he would not give up his faith in Falun Gong, he was singled out and severely tortured by camp guards. After Mr. Lu was released, he was forced to leave home and become homeless in order to avoid further persecution and possible arrest. In 2008, he decided to go back to his home town to help fellow practitioners prepare leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. In July 2008, he was arrested again along with several other local practitioners. His whereabouts and the state of his health remain unknown. -
Exposing the Persecution in the Shanghai Women's Forced Labour Camp
2009-04-02On December 29th, 2004, I was arrested and detained by police due to reports made by people who did not know the truth of the persecution. I was transferred to the Shanghai City Women's Forced Labour Camp for eighteen months. I was forced to watch DVDs full of lies, as a means to brainwash me and force me to quit Falun Gong. Since I did not submit to their demands, I was forced to stay in a small cell, sit for extended periods on a small stool, and to write self-criticism essays. I was forced to do physical labour, which I resisted. The brigade captain grabbed my collar and dragged me to her office, where she kept slapping my face left and right, and kicking my whole body. -
A Fellow Practitioner Recounts How Ms. Wang Fengqin from Yantai City, Shandong Province, Died as a Result of Persecution Six Years Ago
2009-04-01I am a Falun Gong practitioner in Yantai City. Here I want to tell how policeman Gao Xiu and several collaborators [former practitioners who have turned against Falun Gong under brainwashing and torture. They are then made to assist in brainwashing and torturing practitioners] caused the death of Ms. Wang Fengqin by force-feeding six years ago, in 2003. They even planned to kill me at that time to cover up the facts. -
Having Lost His Feet Six Years Ago, Wang Xinchun Is Arrested and Tortured Again
2009-04-01Wang Xinchun is a Falun Gong practitioner from Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province. He lost both feet in 2002 as a result of gross abuse at the Fenggou Police Station. Agents from the Fenggou Police Station arrested and violently tortured him again in December 2008. They surrounded Wang, knocked him down, and stomped on his head, feet, legs, arms and chest. They twisted his arms to the back and handcuffed him. Policeman Tao Xuwei punched and kicked Wang, while stuffing and pouring snow, cold water and beer on his chest and back. Then Tao ground his feet into the wounds on Wang's legs. He also used a wood plank to beat Wang's head, face, shoulder and back. Worse yet, Tao burned Wang's face with fire. -
The Persecution of Two Older Female Falun Gong Practitioners from Anxin County, Hebei Province
2009-04-01Ms. Jin Guifang, 67 years old, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in 2000. The police arrested her and she was held at the county detention centre. The police and prisoners beat this elderly woman. They searched her house and sent her to a labour camp for a year. She was put on public trial alongside criminals at the No.1 middle school playground. She was forced to stand on a truck, wear a big sign that said, "evil cult Falun Gong member." -
Cangxian Procuratorate Puts Five Practitioners on Trial
2009-04-01In early March 2009, the Cangxian Procuratorate in Hebei Province put practitioners Mr. Pu Jinfeng, Ms. Zhao Junfeng, Mr. Zhang Kanzhong, Mr. Li Bin'an and Mr. Liu Rujun on trial. It was learned that there was an organization specifically set up for persecuting Falun Gong within the Cangzhou City Intermediate Court. It was stipulated that the County Court must report all cases to the city's Intermediate Court within three days. All the appeals lodged by the practitioners, who had been sentenced by the lower court, were all rejected by the city's Intermediate Court. -
Mr. Chang Guiyou Died in Custody in 2005
2009-03-31In June 2004, Falun Gong practitioner Chang Guiyou was taken to the Tongzhou District Detention Centre. Then he was sentenced to three years of imprisonment. In late November 2004, he was taken to the Qianjing Prison in Tianjin City. In March 2005, while detained in Beijing City Women's Prison, His wife was notified that her husband was critically ill. Both his nose and mouth were bleeding, and his head was wrapped with gauze. Later, she was notified that he died of a cerebral haemorrhage, at the age of 55. -
Mr. Mo Anqi Persecuted in Shijiazhuang Forced Labour Camp
2009-03-31On January 20th, 2009, a so-called "celebration party" was held at the Shijiazhuang Forced Labour Camp in Hebei Province. Inmates performed a small drama which slandered Falun Gong. Everyone, including guards and some higher officials, was forced to attend. In the middle of the show, Mr. Mo Anqi, a Falun Gong practitioner, stood up and shouted: "Falun Gong is good! Stop the persecution!" Everyone was shocked. Then a dozen more practitioners shouted: "Falun Gong is good!" Qin Jing jumped up and ran towards Mr. Mo and beat him. Ordered by Qin, prisoners joined in and beat practitioners to the ground who had also shouted and dragged them outside. -
The Story of Young Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Yang Zhaoying from Suizhong County, Liaoning Province
2009-03-31Ms. Yang Zhaoying was widely recognized for her outstanding Japanese-Chinese translation skills. However, the authorities arrested her because she practised Falun Gong, and were going to send her to a forced labour camp. To avoid persecution, she jumped out of a police station window and was severely injured. Her lower body was paralysed. Once at home after the injury, without any treatment, simply by studying the Falun Gong teachings and practising the Falun Gong exercises, she was able to stand up again and walk. Later, the Chinese Communist Party arrested Ms. Yang and also sentenced her to seven years in prison. -
Chinese Communist Party Officials from the Qingdao Bei District Court Conduct Large-Scale Unjust Activities
2009-03-31On March 10th, 2009, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) orchestrated a terrible and ugly play at the Qingdao City Dashan Detention Centre in Shandong Province. The CCP collected a large group of individuals to attend a court session, including 610 Office staff, CCP plain clothes policemen, armed military police, Domestic Security Brigade officers, court police officers, judges, a "Procurator" and two to three hundred additional people. Additionally, over 50 police and other vehicles occupied nearly the entire 600-metre long path leading to the detention centre. All these arrangements were made for the trial of four kind-hearted Falun Gong practitioners. -
Mr. Zheng Yongyi Suffers Long-Term Mental Disability Due to Torture at Dalian Drug Abuse Centre
2009-03-30Falung Gong practitioner Mr. Zheng Yongyi is 34 years old, and lives in Zhuanghe City, Liaoning Province. He was persecuted by the Dalian Drug Abuse Centre in 1999. He was stripped naked and beaten badly there and lost his mental clarity. In the past nine years, his family has spent a lot of money treating Mr. Zheng, but he hasn't recovered, and is still dependent on his parents for daily care. -
Ms. Zhang Nengmin's Life Is in Danger after Seven Months in Sichuan Women's Forced Labour Camp
2009-03-30Ms. Zhang Nengmin, an acupuncture physician, was persecuted in Sichuan Women's Forced Labour Camp. Forty years old and originally very healthy, she was persecuted and suffered a mental collapse. Her life is in peril. Ms. Zhang's relatives went to the Labour Camp to visit her. She was unable to walk or stand by herself and was held by two people. She was as thin as a skeleton and there was a scar on her face. One of her upper front teeth was missing. Her left ear could not been seen. It appeared to be wrapped with something and was quite scary looking. Her face did not show any emotion or reactions. She did not say a single sentence when her relatives spoke to her. It was reported that she had no appetite, and she had trouble falling asleep. The intravenous injection given to her was unsuccessful. She had lost control of her bladder and bowels.
