Several Falun Gong Practitioners Detained in Yuanbaoshan District, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region

Several Falun Gong practitioners from the Yuanbaoshan District in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, were arrested in mid-April 2012. They have been detained for over a month. The Yuanbaoshan District authorities are planning to persecute them further. Ms. Wang Fenghuan and Ms. Cui Cuixia were arrested by a police officer under orders from the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) on the afternoon of April 13th, while they were explaining the facts about Falun Gong to people. -
Retired Nurse Ms. Chen Jiurong Arrested
2012-06-05Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen Jiurong, 67, from Shenyang City, Liaoning Province was arrested in May 2012, by police, who also ransacked her home. On the morning of May 10th, Ms. Chen's family went to the police station to demand her release, but the officers said that Ms. Chen had been transferred to Shenyang City Detention Centre at 3:00 a.m. that morning. -
Four Elderly Practitioners in Shandong Province Arrested
2012-06-02Four practitioners from Chenbei Village in Shandong Province were arrested at their homes by police on April 16th, 2012. Those arrested were Jiang Yuwen, 64, Zhang Wangming, 65, Jiang Huaizhen, around 60, and Liu Guanglei, 70. At no time during the arrests or incarceration were proper procedures followed. After Jiang Huaizhen was arrested, she suffered a fall and she was completely unable to move her right leg. Over night her leg became extremely swollen and developed several blisters. The police managed to extort 5,000 yuan from her family before setting her free. -
Ms. Huang Youfeng, 60, from Nanan District, Chongqing City Placed on Trial
2012-06-02Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Huang Youfeng, 60, was reported by someone when she was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong and was arrested by the police. Ms. Huang was taken to the patrol officer's office, then to the detention centre. Due to high blood pressure, Ms. Huang was released and is now under residential surveillance. The Procuratorate of Nan'an District placed her on trial on May 7th, 2012. -
Ms. Zhang Yanling and Her Husband from Dunhua City, Jilin Province Arrested by 610 Office Agents
2012-05-29Ms. Zhang Yanling was informed by her manager at work on April 6th, that she was to meet an officer from the Jilin Province 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). She politely declined. The next morning, Ms. Zhang was arrested at work and was then taken to a brainwashing centre. Her husband, Mr. Wang Yongqiang, was later arrested and taken to a brainwashing centre after he questioned the Domestic Security Division about the situation. -
Mr. Li Xuangang from Changsha County, Hunan Province Arrested at Work, Current Whereabouts Unknown
2012-05-29On April 9th, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Xuangang went to work and was arrested by police officers from the 610 Offices (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) of Changsha County, Hunan Province and Chibi City in Hubei Province. He is currently being detained in Chibi City, the exact location unknown. After the persecution began, Mr. Li Xuangang went to Beijing on July 20th, 1999 to appeal for Falun Gong. He was sentenced to four years in prison and a year of forced labour. Mr. Li Xuangang has been persecuted repeatedly over the past ten years for practising Falun Gong. -
Ms. Zhang Xiuling Arrested by Police in Laishui County, Hebei Province
2012-05-26Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Xiuling was arrested by Laishui County police on April 23rd, 2012. Ms. Zhang began to practise Falun Gong in May 1999. Before that, she used to suffer from neurotic headaches, neck pain, peritoneal adhesions from an appendectomy, chronic arthritis, and irregular heartbeat. A month after she began the practice, all of her illnesses disappeared. Furthermore, her family conflicts were resolved after she followed Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Ms. Zhang used to be short-tempered and argued with her husband and daughter all the time. -
Law Professional Jin Yijun Appeals Forced Labour Sentence
2012-05-26On December 7th, 2011, Ms. Jin Yijun went to Lanzhou Prison to pick up practitioner Shao Yanbo, who had been incarcerated for eight years. She was followed and arrested by police. Her home was also ransacked. On January 5th, a lawyer was engaged, but that same day, the police manipulated the Labour Re-education Committee in Lanzhou City and took Ms. Jin Yijun to forced labour. On the afternoon of January 6th, the police secretly transferred her from the First Detention Station in Lanzhou City to the Gansu Province Women's Forced Labour Camp for one year of forced labour. Jin Yijun told her family clearly that she would appeal the forced labour sentence. -
Mr. Wu Guangwan of Ziyang City, Sichuan Province Taken to the Notorious Er'ehu Brainwashing Centre
2012-05-23Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wu Guangwan was arrested on April 21st, by police. Mr. Wu was taken to the notorious Er'ehu Brainwashing Centre. Simply because Mr. Wu is a good person who cultivates kindness, he has been subjected to persecution many times. In September 2010, Mr. Wu was also taken by police to the Er'ehu Brainwashing Centre. Through brainwashing methods such as keeping a large light and loud TV on at night, they forced him to watch videos that slander Falun Gong. He was also subjected to physical and verbal abuse and continuous sleep deprivation for more than a month. When Mr. Wu was in a confused mental state after being deprived of sleep for so long, the brainwashing centre personnel forced him to compromise and write a guarantee statement to renounce practising Falun Gong. -
Shanghai Practitioner Mr. Shi Yi Locked up in a Mental Hospital
2012-05-23Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Shi Yi went to West Nanjing Road Police Station in Jingan on March 29th, 2012, hoping to talk to the police chief about Falun Gong and to collect some of his personal belongings that had been confiscated from him. However, Mr. Shi was arrested on his way to the station by police. His family was later informed that he had been taken to the Central Hospital of Mental Health in Jiangan. -
Practitioner Zhang Shengquan From Chongqing City, Previously Sentenced to Prison and Forced Labour Camp, Recently Framed and Sentenced Again to a Four-Year Prison Term
2012-05-23On February 16th, 2012, Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Shengquan, 53, was arrested by nine police officers. Five days later, the Chongqing City Judicial System secretly sentenced him to a four-year prison term. Zhang Shengquan will appeal the court ruling. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has constantly persecuted Zhang. He previously had been sentenced to two years of forced labour and a three-year prison term for his beliefs. -
Mr. Hua Lianyong and Wife Ms. Tian Zongli Arrested Again
2012-05-23On April 24th, 2012, Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Hua Lianyou and his wife Ms. Tian Zongli were arrested by police. Their home was ransacked. It was said that the police station received an order from the city government to arrest them. The police confiscated personal belongings including Falun Gong books, computers, and printers. The couple are now detained in Beichen District Detention Centre. Mr. Hua and Ms. Tian had previously been arrested in February 2001, and were sentenced to five years and four years in prison, respectively. -
Ms. Wang Guiying from Baoding City Is Being Brought to Trial
2012-05-23On February 25th, 2012, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Guiying, who is 55 years old and from Baoding City, was arrested by the Domestic Security Department of the Beishi District Police Sub-Bureau. Ms. Wang's family received a notice saying that Ms. Wang will be tried on May 25th. In August 2002, Ms. Wang was arrested for practising Falun Gong. She was tortured until her life was at risk. They used an electric chair to cruelly torture her, injected her with poisonous drugs, and beat her. As a result, she was wrapped up for a few months, she became emaciated, and was at the brink of death. -
Office Manager Mr. Wang Zishan Arrested at Zhuhai Airport
2012-05-21Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Zishan, 57, was arrested at the Zhuhai Airport on March 4th, 2012, as he was departing for a business exposition in Beijing. As he was preparing to board and presented his identity card, more than ten plainclothes police gathered around him and forcibly took him to the Airport Police Station. They frisked him and searched his belongings. After finding some paper money bills with messages exposing the persecution of Falun Gong, they immediately arrested him. It was learned that Mr. Wang was then sent to the Sanshui Brainwashing Centre. -
Practitioner in Kunming City Arrested and Sentenced Because His Wife Had the Same Name As a Crime Suspect
2012-05-21Mr. Cheng Hongchou is a 61-year-old Falun Gong practitioner. Because his wife has the same name as a crime suspect, the police broke into his home and arrested him. The agents also threatened his wife, saying, “We will return and arrest you if you expose today’s incident on the Internet.” While he was held in the detention centre, Mr. Cheng was brutally tortured. As a result, his body and mind were badly injured. He developed symptoms of oedema in his legs and he was in very poor physical condition. On March 13th, 2012 the Kunming City Court sentenced him to three years of imprisonment with three years of probation.
