Fifty-Six Practitioners Arrested in Heilongjiang Province
2011-12-25
Fifty-six Falun Gong practitioners from Harbin and Shuangcheng were arrested on November 13th. About 50 of them were sharing their Falun Gong cultivation experiences at a practitioner's home and were arrested at midnight that day. On November 30th, nine female practitioners were taken to the Qianjin Forced Labour Camp to serve one-and-a-half year terms. Six male practitioners were taken to the Suihua Forced Labour Camp. Two elderly female practitioners were released due to their having high blood pressure. The rest remain at the Shuangcheng Detention Centre and the Harbin No. 2 Detention Centre. -
Ms. Ma Xiaoshun from Guiyang City Sentenced to Nine Years in Prison
2011-12-24Ms. Ma Xiaoshun from Guiyang City was secretly sentenced to nine years in prison on November 23rd. She is currently being held in Guizhou Province Women's Prison. Ms. Ma was arrested on November 3rd. She has been on a hunger strike since she was arrested. She developed high blood pressure, kidney stones, organ failure, and insufficient blood supply. Because of her poor physical condition, she was sent to the Fengguang County People's Hospital on November 15th for medical treatment. -
Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Court Officials Deprive Mr. Sun Yi's Family of the Right to Attend His Trial and Sentence Him to Three Years in Prison
2011-12-24Fucheng District Court officials in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province, put Mr. Sun Yi on trial on November 28th without informing his family and sentenced him to three years in prison. After Mr. Sun's family learned this, they contacted Judge Wang Chen, who claimed that the court didn't have to inform the family of an adult before his trial. -
Baochang Town Brainwashing Centre in Xilin Gol League, Inner Mongolia Arrests and Persecutes Innocent Citizens
2011-12-23Practitioners Ms. Ren Huizhen, Ms. Lian Guiqin were arrested and taken to a brainwashing centre in Baochang Town. Ms. Guan Yujie, in her 40s and a teacher at the Baochang County No.2 Elementary School, was also taken to this brainwashing centre on November 13th. About 20 practitioners are currently held in the Baochang Brainwashing Centre. Two practitioners share one room, with several former practitioners who have given up Falun Gong and a teacher to conduct brainwashing. -
Li Shengyu from Yangjiang Was Violently Arrested
2011-12-22Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Shengyu was violently arrested at home by several police officers and the Xitou Town Residential Committee on November 1st. The officers did not show a warrant and broke into his home. The officers searched the house for anything of value. They stole two printers, a computer, a laptop, Falun Gong books and materials, and about 700 yuan in cash. When his sisters arrived at his home the police had already tied up Mr. Li’s hands and feet with a rope, and he could not move or sit. One of Mr. Li’s eyes was hurt and bleeding, and had not been treated. When the sisters asked why the police why they were arresting and beating their brother, the officers threatened them and told them not to ask, otherwise, they would be arrested, too. -
Seven Practitioners in Chizhou City, Anhui Province Sentenced to Imprisonment
2011-12-22Seven practitioners were held more than six months before they were secretly tried and sentenced to imprisonment on November 30th. Mr. Yu Zhiwu, 54, was arrested on May 15th at his home. The police took away his computer, DVDs exposing the persecution of Falun Gong and Falun Gong books. He was held for more than six months before being sentenced to three and a half years of imprisonment. -
Two Practitioners in Their 60s from the Zhongyuan Oil Field in Puyang City, Henan Province Arrested and Detained
2011-12-21610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) in Puyang City, Henan Province broke into six practitioners' homes on November 30th. They ransacked the houses and took away the practitioners' computers, printers, Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. Two practitioners in their 60s were taken to the Puyang City Detention Centre. -
Mr. Li Haitao from the Haidian District in Beijing Again Sentenced to Forced Labour
2011-12-20Mr. Li Haitao, 37, was once again arrested on the evening of February 27th, 2011, and later sentenced to two and a half years of forced labour. He is currently in the Xinji Forced Labour Camp in Daxing, Beijing. The authorities have only allowed his immediate family to visit him, once each month, and each time for only 20 minutes. During their November visit, Mr. Li's relatives saw that he was emaciated due to physical abuse and mistreatment, and he was upset. His condition is worrying. -
Former Yongzhou High School Teacher Arrested Again after Six Years in Prison
2011-12-20On November 25th, four plainclothes policemen drove a van to the rice store Mr. Lei Zhiyong owns and they took Mr. Lei into custody as he was about to deliver rice to his customers. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution of Falun Gong, the CCP personnel from the Lanshan Education Bureau followed the directive to “cut them [practitioners] off financially, ruin their reputations, and destroy them physically.” As a result, Mr. Lei lost his job. He was sentenced to six years in prison in June 2002. -
Huaian City Police Arrest and Harass Falun Gong Practitioners
2011-12-19Agents from the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) in Huaian City, Jiangsu Province recently stepped up their arrests and harassment of Falun Gong practitioners. On November 9th, police in Huaian City climbed over the walls and broke into Ms. Ji Shujun’s home. She is in her 80s. They arrested four female practitioners who are in their 60s who were visiting Ms. Ji. They also coerced Ms. Ji to disclose the whereabouts of two practitioners who then had to leave their homes to avoid further persecution. -
Police from Xian County Arrest and Brutally Beat Citizens
2011-12-18Several police in Xian County, Hebei, climbed over a fence, broke into the home of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Wenzhao’s father-in-law, stole valuable items, and beat family members. They also arrested and brutally beat Mr. Li Wenzhao, his wife’s brother Mr. Wang Fuqiang, and his wife’s underage nephew Mr. Wang Xuejian. Even though the police have released these three, they still harass them now and then. -
Outstanding Teacher Ms. Ye Zhongqiu Sentenced Again
2011-12-17After schoolteacher Ms. Ye Zhongqiu began to practise Falun Gong, she became very kind-hearted and upright, and her students liked her very much in turn. In 2003, Ms. Ye made use of an opportunity of students' working on a paper to explain the facts about Falun Gong and reveal the lies fabricated under Jiang Zemin's, [former leader of China and instigator of the persecution] regime. The principal of the school received a report from another teacher about what Ms. Ye was doing. Ms. Ye was arrested and taken to the No. 4 Detention Centre in Shenyang City. Ms. Ye was sentenced to five years' imprisonment, and dismissed from her position at the school. Ms. Ye was arrested again in 2010 and the court sentenced her to three years of imprisonment. -
Ms. Rong Dehuan from Bazhou City, Hebei Province Arrested and Taken to a Brainwashing Centre
2011-12-17Police broke into Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Rong Dehuan's home and took her to the Langfang Brainwashing Centre. She has not been released. Her mother, in her 70s, went to the town government almost daily to request a visit with her daughter, but Sun and Cao threatened her. With Ms. Rong's mother's strong request, the government staff had to let her meet with her daughter once at the brainwashing centre. -
Ms. Fan Shude from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province Arrested and Tortured Again
2011-12-16Ms. Fan Shude, 57, was plagued with many illnesses before she practised Falun Gong. However, all of her illnesses soon disappeared after she began practising. She has been arrested and tortured five times because of her belief. In 2007, Ms. Fan was sentenced to one and a half years in Qianjin Forced Labour Camp, where she was tortured for over eight months. During this period of time, guards injected her with unknown drugs. About 50 practitioners were arrested by police on November 13th. Ms. Fan was also arrested. She was severely tortured and taken to a hospital for treatment. -
Ms. Pan Sujuan and Her Husband Imprisoned, Their Three-Year-Old Son Loses His Parents
2011-12-16Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Pan Sujuan was sentenced to prison in Beijing. She was recently taken to the Zhejiang Province Women's Prison. Her son, who is only three years old, now lives with his invalid grandmother. On July 24th, 2009, Ms. Pan was reported for distributing Falun Gong DVDs at a market in Beijing. She was arrested by police. Since she was still breastfeeding her son, the police released her on bail pending trial for one year. On July 25th, 2009, police deceived Ms. Pan's husband, Mr. Ran Fengyun, also a practitioner, into going to the Haidian Detention Centre to bail Ms. Pan out. Mr. Ran was arrested and taken to Tumuji Forced Labour Camp in Inner Mongolia to serve a two-and-a-half-year term of forced labour.
