  • Practitioner Ms. Li Jinlian Tried in Daqing City

    At around 10:00 a.m. on June 12th, 2008, a hearing for practitioner Ms. Li Jinlian's case was held in the Honggang Court in Daqing City. When it was Ms. Li's turn to speak she remained calm, and when she was asked what crime she had committed, she replied loudly, "I am innocent." During the deliberation, Ms. Li exposed how she was persecuted. She said that on the second day of her detention, officers from the Babaixiang Police Department sealed her mouth with tape and beat her. They wiped mustard oil on her and she lost consciousness. She was sent to emergency for treatment, then woke up. The court asked her, "Do you have any proof?"
  • Tortures in Jiangxi Province Women's Forced Labour Camp

    Practitioners are the only ones required to clean the toilets in Jiangxi Province Women's Forced Labour Camp. In summer, the practitioners cannot use fans while other inmates can. A practitioner is locked in a 75 square foot cell with her two monitors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In the cell, she eats, sleeps, uses the toilet, does forced labour, and never has a break. She only has 15 minutes a day to get water, clean the chamberpot, and wash her clothes. The practitioner's prison term is extended at least five days for every month that she does not "transform." Practitioners on hunger strike are tied to a bed. Their limbs are strapped down day and night, and no exception is made when they need to use the toilet.
  • Police in Jianyang City, Sichuan Province, Arrest Many Falun Gong Practitioners in Run-up to the Olympics

    Recently in Jianyang City, Sichuan Province, authorities from the police department, National Security, and the 610 Office and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) members of each township went around to arrest Falun Gong practitioners. They incarcerated the practitioners in a brainwashing centre in Er'ehu of Yingjie Town, Ziyang City.
  • Practitioners Assaulted in Suihua Forced Labour Camp

    Suihua Forced Labour Camp in Heilongjiang Province has been classified as a "Model Forced Labour Camp" by the Communist regime. It is a dark, evil place where Falun Gong practitioners are persecuted. There are about two hundred people incarcerated there, of which more than seventy are practitioners. They are spread out amongst 5 groups of prisoners.
  • Ms. Song Yulian and Others Tortured in Qianjin Labour Camp in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Song Yulian, 48, was sentenced to one-and-a-half years of forced labour because she went to a police station to request that her confiscated Falun Gong books be returned to her. On the day when Ms. Song refused to write the "three statements", she was tortured by eight perpetrators. That afternoon they tortured Ms. Song with the "big hang up", four or five times, and beat her until she lost consciousness. Since April, the door to the toilet has been locked day and night. Prisoners working in the workshop have to hold their bladders to the point that they almost wet their trousers.
  • Update on the Arrest of Five Falun Gong Practitioners from Mishan in Heilongjiang Province

    On June 2nd, 2008, two practitioners, Mr. Liu Jinglu and his wife Sun Yuxiang, from Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province, drove to Zhuangxing Village, Taiping Township. They started distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling the farmers who worked there the facts about Falun Gong. Someone reported them to the local Taiping Police Station. On hearing the news, the police officers rushed to the site, but Liu Jinglu and his wife had driven away. Police intercepted the couple and were taken to the Taiping Police Station. They also arrested two other practitioners who were passing by Mr. Liu's house.
  • The Immoral Deeds Committed by the Police in Baqi Township, Shulan City, Jilin Province

    On June 15th, 2008, Baqi Township Police Station Chief Fu Wenzhong in Shulan City, Jilin Province, and three others barged into the residence of Mr. Jiang Yihong, a Falun Gong practitioner. They did not show him any identification, and during their search they did not find any Falun Gong materials. They did not give any reason for breaking into his home, and then they took him away. Because of the intervention of Jiang's family members, Jiang managed to escape. However, his mother, Tan Yuling, a 68-year old practitioner, was forcefully taken away.
  • Tianhe District Court in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province Sentences Mr. Feng Zhigang to Four Years

    On September 23rd, 2007, Mr. Feng was arrested by police officers from Guangzhou City. While being held in solitary confinement in the Tianhe Detention Centre, Mr. Feng's body became weak and bloated. On numerous occasions, his family traveled long distances to visit him, but each time they arrived, the guards would not allow them to see Mr. Feng. On May 30th, 2008, the Tianhe District Court in Guangzhou City sentenced Mr. Feng to four years in a forced labour camp - despite the fact that Mr. Feng entered a not-guilty plea and local practitioners explained the facts about Falun Gong to the court. When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) administrators read aloud the verdict, Mr. Feng felt nauseated and vomited. Mr. Feng is currently detained at the Tianhe Detention Centre.
  • Requesting Urgent Help for a Teacher in Ningxia Autonomous Region

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. He Xianglong, 46, is a teacher in Longde County, Guyuan City, Ningxia Autonomous Region. He is highly respected and even received an "Excellent Teacher" award in 2007. On the evening of June 17th, 2008, when he was helping with the evening study group in Shatang Town Middle School, police from the Domestic Security Division and the Shatang Town Police Station came to the school and arrested him without showing any legal documents. Mr. He Xianglong is currently detained in the Longde Detention Centre.
  • Student from Qianguo County No. 5 High School Arrested While Using the Internet and Expelled from School

    On May 10th, 2008, Yin Fuan, a student at Qianguo County No. 5 High School in Songyuan City, Jilin Province was arrested. When this 19-year-old boy was using the Internet to form a blog, police from Beijing monitored and discovered his belief in Falun Gong. As a result, the officers from the Songyuan National Security Team arrested him. Yin Fuchun was expelled from school. Yin Fuchun has been held at the Qianguo County Detention Centre for over 30 days.

    June 3rd was my mother's 37th birthday. However, my mum was absent, leaving me to spend her birthday without her. Because she believes in "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance," she was arrested by the Communist Party police. On the morning of April 18th, 2008, my classmates and I went to one of their homes. I wanted to call my mum to tell her where I was, but I could not locate her. Her mobile phone was not working, and no one picked up the home phone. I kept trying to locate her until 5 p.m. I was very worried and asked my relatives to help. At 7 p.m. I went home and found it a mess. Cigarette butts were everywhere, and the computers and printers were gone. Later I heard that my mother had been arrested while she was at work. I was very scared.
  • Ms. Li Guilian, Age 70, Arrested by Daqing Police

    On June 2nd, 2008, when 70-year-old Ms. Li Guilian sat down to rest near the Honggang Courthouse, four male police officers and one female police officer from the Honggang Police Sub-bureau surrounded and frisked her. They took four Falun Gong badges from her and then arrested her. In the Honggang Police Sub-bureau, Ms. Li was interrogated and told to confess who sold her the Falun Gong badges, what she was doing there, and if she had any Falun Gong materials in her home. At 7:00 p.m., Ms. Li Guilian's daughter went to the Honggang Police Sub-bureau to ask for her mother's release. She was intimidated into signing some papers by the policeman in charge.
  • Seventeen-Year-Old Boy Traumatised by Police Harassment and Becomes Severely Ill

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Deng Linfeng was arrested with her son by officers from the Jiamusi Railroad Police Department on February 26th, 2008. Her son was threatened by the police many times, and they even occupied his home. After these traumatic incidents, the boy developed a severe illness. On June 18th, the Jiamusi City Railroad Court tried Ms. Deng.
  • Mr. Liu Haibin of Tianjin Arrested Again by 610 Office Personnel

    On May 26th, 2008, Mr. Liu Haibin was arrested by police officers and is being held in the Dongli District Detention Centre. According to inside information, ever since his arrest on May 26th, he has been on a hunger strike in protest. He has spoken only three sentences: "Falun Gong is good. 'Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance' is good. I am innocent." Back in October of 2000, Mr. Liu was sentenced to four years in prison for distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong. While in prison, he suffered various forms of torture for not giving up his belief.
  • Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested in Laishui County, Hebei Province

    After the Sichuan earthquake, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) County Council and the local government, 610 Office, Public Security Bureau, National Security Team, and all levels of village and town Party committees created a special squad dedicated to arresting and harassing Falun Gong practitioners under the pretext of "protecting the Olympics." They used a list of practitioners from 1999. Moreover, the local television station was used to manipulate local citizens into monitoring and reporting practitioners, and promised, at least in name, a reward of 5,000 yuan for each report.
