Yang Peizhan from Hubei Province and Fang Xinzhi from Hebei Province Died Due to Persecution
2007-12-10Mr. Yang Peizhan, 73, recovered from multiple diseases as a result of practising Falun Gong. Because of his informing people about the persecution of Falun Gong and dispelling the state propaganda attacking the practice, Mr. Yang was sentenced to seven years in prison in 2003 and was detained at Shayang Prison Camp in Hubei Province. He was severely persecuted there, and as a result he often had blood in his urine and developed oedema all over his body. In order to avoid responsibility for Ms. Yang's death, the Communist Party agents allowed him to be released on bail for medical treatment in December 2006. However, the persecution had caused too much damage to his health, and Yang Peizhan died on July 15th, 2007. -
Persecution of Practitioners in Guan County, Shandong Province - Three Practitioners Dead
2007-12-09Mr. Ren Zijing was sentenced to one-and-a-half years forced labour in October 2005. In the labour camp, he suffered brainwashing and torture. He was deprived of sleep, forced to sit on a small stool for long periods, scolded, beaten and forced to endure long-term force-feeding. The tube used for force-feeding was left in his stomach for days and disintegrated in his stomach, which caused him to suffer a lot and vomit. Because of the long-term persecution in the labour camp, he became a skeleton and was dying. He was then sent back home. -
Xu Guangdao Died as a Result of Torture - His Younger Brother Is Now Brutally Tortured
2007-12-09In 2001, Mr. Xu Guangdao went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong and he was arrested and held in a detention centre. Because he went on a hunger strike for the right to practise the Falun Gong exercises, he was beaten many times and tortured with electric needles. Prisoners carried him back to the cell following the beating. He died that evening in February 2001. Recently, his brother has also suffered brutal treatment in police custody. -
34-Year-Old Ms. Zhang Mingyi Died as a Result of Brutal Treatment in Zhejiang Women's Prison
2007-12-08Ms. Zhang Mingyi was a Falun Gong practitioner. Seeing that the local people did not know the truth about Falun Gong, she informed people about the persecution and dispelled the state propaganda attacking the practice. Later, people who did not know the truth reported her, and Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials made her suffer for more than two years in the Zhejiang Province Women's Prison. Her health deteriorated due to the long term brutal treatment in the prison. She was constantly feverish, and the prison doctor injected some unknown drug into her, causing her to become extremely weak and quickly lose weight. After returning home, the doctor diagnosed her with hemolytic anaemia, hepatitis B and C. She died on August 29th, 2007, at only 34 years old. -
Graduate of Changchun Postal College Song Changguang Persecuted to Death in 2003
2007-12-07Mr. Song Changguan went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was arrested because he displayed a banner on Tiananmen Square. He was sent to Changchun's Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp. The conditions were totally disgusting and unsanitary there. Scabies spread throughout the entire labour camp. The perpetrators used hard wooden boards and plastic to beat the practitioners. Song Changguang was one of the worst cases. He had generalised infection, and scabies which covered 60% of his body. He had pus-filled blisters all over his body. Song Changguang was extremely malnourished and severely anaemic. On July 22nd, 2002, Fu Guohua saw that Song Changguang was dying and did not want him to die in labour camp, so he was sent home. Song Changguang's family took him to hospital for treatment, but it was too late. He passed away on November 12th 2003. -
Before 67-Year-Old Qi Tingsong Died as a Result of Torture, Laiwu City Police Filed Records Claiming He "Committed Suicide in Fear of Punishment"
2007-12-04Mr. Qi Tingsong, a 67-year-old Falun Gong practitioner was arrested on October 15th, 2007. He was severely tortured by the police until his death on November 11th. On November 6th, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) police met at the Liangpo Police Station. They falsely recorded that Qi Tingsong had "committed suicide in fear of punishment" at the meeting. Before Qi Tingsong went into a coma from the torture, he had severe hemorrhage during his bowel movement. He also spat blood from his mouth. The medical examination record also clearly indicated that he had severe liver, heart and kidney failure, anaemia due to blood transfusion and upper digestive tract hemorrhage. His lips had become rotten. His tongue was black and had been cut shorter as there was a clearly cut section. His lower back and arms had severe scars. -
Mr. Cai Zhigang Died Far from Home as a Result of Persecution
2007-12-04Mr. Cai was first arrested on October 21st, 2000. Police arrested Mr. Cai when he was purchasing materials for his employer. He was forcibly taken into custody then detained for more than two months in the detention centre. The police extorted 20,000 yuan from his family before releasing him, and his employer ended his contract without reason. He was arrested again in 2001 and tortured with a cruel method of "Carrying a Sword on the Back" for more than three hours at one time. Later Mr. Cai became homeless to avoid arrest. In the long three-and-a-half years he spent away from home, Cai Zhigang endured all sorts of hardships, especially the mental burden of the fact that his whole family had lost their source of income. Mr. Cai became sick due to the huge mental pressure and he died on November 17th, 2007, still far away from home. -
Older Ms. Yang Zhengbi Dies as a Result of Long-Term Persecution
2007-12-02On July 17th, 2007, Ms. Yang Zhengbi, 54, was arrested by police while distributing leaflets exposing the persecution. She was detained in Dongxing District Detention Centre, and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents sentenced her to 15 months of forced labour. She was taken to the Zizhong Labour Camp, but the camp had to reject her due to her high blood pressure. Her husband, also a practitioner, was serving a term of forced labour in the Mianyang City Labour Camp. For the past years under persecution, Ms. Yang was tortured in the prison, labour camp, and put in detention centre many times. She could not even find peace in her home. This persecution severely hurt her mentally, physically, and financially. She died on November 6th, 2007. -
Older Mr. Su Ruixian from Langfang City Died as a Result of Persecution
2007-12-02In the past eight years of the persecution, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Su Ruixian was not allowed to work and live a normal life. Since the persecution began on July 20th, 1999, there was not one peaceful day for Mr. Su's family. Because he refused to give up his freedom of belief, Mr. Su was expelled from the Communist Party and fired from his government job. He was sentenced in 2000 to three years of forced labour in the Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp. In the camp, he was tortured by being handcuffed for two months while being locked in a small cell and shocked with electric batons. Once a guard whipped him with a thick nylon rope, covering his buttocks with purplish black bruises. His legs were covered with festering sores. He died on November 9th, 2007 at the age of 57. -
Mr. Wu Jiuping Died as Result of Persecution in Anhui Province
2007-12-01On November 22nd, 2007, four thugs went to Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Wu Jiuping's home. Subsequently Mr. Wu died after falling from the fourth floor. The four left the scene without making any effort to help him. The details of what happened are under investigation. Mr. Wu's neighbour on the first floor heard a loud noise, thought something had fallen from upstairs, and found Mr. Wu on the ground. The neighbour called out for help and saw the four thugs quickly leaving, despite the fact that Mr. Wu was still moving on the ground. Sources said Mr. Wu was talking half-consciously after arriving in hospital. The left side of his face was severely swollen, and his left eye was almost blinded. His whole back and lower body were covered with bruises. His left pelvis was crushed, and his left leg was broken. -
67-Year-Old Mr. Qi Tingsong Was Persecuted to Death at the Laiwu Detention Centre in Shandong Province
2007-12-01Mr. Qi Tingsong, a a 67-year-old retired teacher and practitioner, was tortured to death at Laiwu Detention Centre within only 20 days of his arrest. On October 15th, when Mr. Qi was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong in a village, he was arrested by police. Mr. Qi refused to cooperate with them and held a hunger strike to protest. Police officers savagely force-fed Mr. Qi. They kicked his lower back and seriously injured him. His upper digestive system was seriously injured from the force-feeding, resulting in severe bleeding. He was taken to the hospital on November 5th, and on November 6th, the Laiwu City Hospital issued a notice stating that he was in critical condition. He died shortly afterwards. -
Elderly Mr. Long Lianzheng Died under Persecution
2007-11-27Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Long Lianzheng, 70, persisted in practising Falun Gong after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999. In February 2001, five policemen tried and failed to open Mr. Long's door with a master key, so they smashed his metal security gate and the front door, rammed a large hole through his wall, and forcibly took Mr. Long to the Wangcun Forced Labour Camp. He was subjected to brainwashing sessions there. He was tortured with brutal force-feeding and several of his teeth were knocked out. He was tortured with various other means including the "Dead Person's Bed." After 6 months, Mr. Long was diagnosed with bone cancer, and he was released on bail for medical treatment. His old sicknesses recurred, and he died on November 2nd, 2007. -
Mr. Ni Wenkui, 45, Died as a Result of Torture and Abuse in Daqing City
2007-11-26Mr. Ni Wenkui, 45, was a Falun Gong practitioner. The police sentenced him to three years in prison in June 2003. During that time, he suffered inhuman abuse. He was often beaten and not allowed to sleep. In the last ten months of his life, he was in a vegetative state and could not take care of himself. Mr. Ni died on November 12th, 2007. -
Three Practitioners from Yunnan Province, Chongqing City, and Heilongjiang Province Died as a Result of Persecution
2007-11-26Ms. Yang Sufeng, 49, steadily followed the teachings of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and tried to be a better person. She soon improved her health, both physically and spiritually. Then someone reported her when she was distributing informational materials exposing the persecution in a rural area in March 2005. Personnel from the 610 Office and the Gejiu City Police Department had her sentenced to forced labour for two-and-a-half years. Ms. Yang was subjected to brainwashing and mentally pressured when she was in the First Forced Labour Camp of Yunnan Province. She was so severely injured, both physically and mentally, that she was very weak when she was released in June 2007. She passed away in a hospital on November 11th, 2007. -
Further Details About Mr. Xu Jishan's Death as the Result of Torture at Daqing City Prison
2007-11-25On June 7th, 2005, guards Li Fengjiang and Zhang Dezhi Daqing City Prison urged inmates to forcibly "reform" practitioner Xu Jishan. They stripped off his clothes and tied him to bed boards (the two boards were crisscrossed), and threw him into the urinal in the toilet. They poured cold water on him from taps and basins for four hours, which resulted in Mr. Xu's choking death. When the inmates realised Mr. Xu Jishan had died from their abuse, they hurriedly reported this to guard Zhang Dezhi. They put clothes on Xu Jishan's body and hastily carried him to the Daqing City Prison Hospital. The 7th Division head Li Fengjiang convened a meeting and told the inmates that Xu Jishan had died of a heart attack. In addition, they threatened the inmates not to speak at will.
