Mr. Dong Peng in Critical Condition in Hulan Prison

Mr. Dong Peng, a Falun Gong practitioner, was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He is incarcerated in Hulan Prison in Harbin City and has been tortured. The prison guards ordered the inmates to monitor him around the clock. He was frequently beaten, threatened, and forced to do a lot of physical labour. His chest is badly bruised and abraded. He is in critical condition. -
Mr. Luo Xianbao Paralysed from Torture--Prison Refuses to Release Him
2009-03-02On January 31st, 2009, Mr. Luo Xianbao's family received a call from Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang City. The prison guards claimed that Mr. Luo, a Falun Gong practitioner, had been sent to the prison hospital due to his high blood pressure. His family went to see him in Shayang Forced Labour Camp, 400 kilometres (600 miles) away from home. They found him confined to bed when they visited him the next day. He was unable to move his left hand and leg, his eyes were vacant, and his speech unclear. He did not recognize his family. His family requested his immediate release. The prison guards deceived Mr. Luo's family by saying that Mr. Luo would be sent home after he was released from the hospital. -
Two Practitioners Died as a Result of Persecution in Heilongjiang and Shaanxi Provinces
2009-03-02Practitioner Mr. Yao Jingming, in his 70s, was arrested by police and taken to Zaozihe Men's Forced Labour Camp. Because Mr. Yao refused to give up his faith, the guards detained him in a small, dark cell with several drug addicts. He was subjected to sleep deprivation and forced to squat with only one foot touching the floor. His whole body became swollen, and his toenails all turned black. Only three months after entering the camp, his health deteriorated so badly that he was carried home on a stretcher. He died soon after. -
Falun Gong Practitioners in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp Tortured During the Olympics
2009-03-02Guards in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp used electric batons, hung practitioners using handcuffs, physically abused them, and made them to stand for long periods of time. They employed a military management style, forcing practitioners to stand in lines under the burning sun. The practitioners were ordered to practise yelling slogans, sing Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and labour camp songs, and recite the thirty labour camp rules before and after each meal. If practitioners didn't cooperate, they were left in the burning sun or tortured. Some practitioners were tortured until they lost the ability to take care of themselves, became mentally unstable, had heart attacks, or were no longer able to stand. -
Letter of Appeal from 59 Relatives and Friends of Falun Gong Practitioners in Heilongjiang Province
2009-03-01Because government officials in China refuse to accept the legal appeals of Falun Gong practitioners, and official avenues of justice are closed to practitioners in China, we wish to use the Falun Gong Minghui website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom) to lodge a protest against the persecution of practitioners and their friends and family members. We also call on people of justice throughout the world to forward our appeal to international human rights organizations and help us rescue our family members. We truly appreciate any help that you can offer. -
Police in Tumen City, Jilin Province Break the Legs of Disabled Practitioner Ms. Liu Shanzhen
2009-03-01Ms. Liu Shanzhen is a 48-year old woman. Her right arm and both legs are disabled. On December 14th, 2008, Domestic Security Division agents from the police department arrested her simply because of her faith in the principles of Falun Gong, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Right now, Ms. Liu is being held in the Anshan Detention Centre. Several policemen took turns beating and torturing Ms. Liu. Police also broke her already disabled legs. -
A 69-year-old Woman Tortured to Blindness in the "Legal System School"
2009-03-01Ms. Lu Guiqin is a resident of Lanzhou City, Gansu Province. She and her son, Guan Longshan, were both arrested in July 2007 and locked up in the notorious "Legal System School" located inside the Pangjiawan Forced Labour Camp in Lanzhou City. They were severely tortured. Ms. Lu was sentenced to four years. She was tortured until she became blind and was mentally disoriented. Meanwhile, Ms. Lu's son, Guan Longshan, was arrested in July 2007 by police and has been held in Pangjiawan Brainwashing Centre until today. -
Practitioners' Families Torn Apart
2009-03-01The Chinese Lantern Festival is supposed to be a holiday for families to get together. Because of the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, cultivators who follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, however, many happy families have been torn apart. Mr. Liu Changyou has derived great improvements, both physically and mentally, from practising Falun Gong. Yet, just because he refused to give up his belief, the Chinese Communist Party took him to a forced labour camp. It was a terrible and unimaginable blow to his children. -
Li Jiagong, an Engineer from the Machinery and Electronics Institute of Handan City, Hebei Province, Dies as a Result of Long-Term Harassment by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)
2009-02-28On January 13th, 2009, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Jiagong died after having endured long-term persecution and harassment by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). His only son was not able to attend his funeral because he is being held in prison for a seventh year because he also practises Falun Gong. During the 16th Congress of the CCP in 2002, Mr. Li Jiagong was arrested because he mailed out letters exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. He was sent to Sucao Police Station and was prevented from sleeping for many days. At the same time, Mr. Li's older daughter was sentenced to two years of forced labour and the police extorted 8,000 yuan from his younger daughter. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Zhang Ling Tortured at Detention Centre in Gaomi City, Shandong Province
2009-02-28Ms. Zhang Ling has been detained by local police for about a month. During this time, she has been locked in a cell and tortured so intensely that she has lost consciousness. She was also bound and chained for three days. She was unconscious when they carried her out of the intensified cell. According to someone who had just been released from the detention centre, the police hung Ms. Zhang by her handcuffs in an iron cage very recently. After many requests, Ms. Zhang's family was finally able to visit her in the detention centre. After being tortured for about 20 days, Ms. Zhang appeared very skinny and she lost almost 15 kilograms. -
Five Practitioners in Hunan Province Sentenced to Three to Seven Years of Imprisonment
2009-02-28The Hecheng District Court of Huaihua City, Hunan Province, tried Ms. Zhou Ling, Ms. Yi Chunxiu and three other practitioners on October 28th and 29th. Upright lawyers from the local area and Beijing defended their innocence. After three months of detention, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) district court handed down the verdicts on January 10th, 2009. Ms. Zhou Ling and Ms. Tang Kaiju rejected the ruling and have appealed to a higher court. Ms. Zhou Ling was sentenced to three years in jail, Ms. Yi Chunxiu to seven years and Ms. Tang Kaiju, Ms. Tang Fangju and Ms. Xiang Aimei were all sentenced to three years jail and three years' probation. The "crime" committed was "sabotaging the implementation of the state's laws by utilizing an [slanderous word omitted] religious organization." -
Mr. Bao Yongsheng from Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province Arrested and Tortured by Police
2009-02-28On December 2nd, 2008 police took several policemen with him to arrest Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Bao Yongsheng and Mr. Wang Jun at their workplace. The policemen tried many times to extort a confession from Bao Yongsheng using torture. Wang Jun was taken to Suihua Forced Labour Camp. Police forcefully locked up Bao Yongsheng at Jinshantun Detention Centre. They sent police officers to Bao Yongsheng's mother-in-law's home, threatening the 80-year-old woman, and forcing his mother-in-law and brother-in-law to sign an arrest warrant. Because his mother-in-law didn't know how to write, the officers wrote her name on the arrest warrant themselves. -
The Persecution of Practitioners in the Women's Prison in Shaanxi Province
2009-02-27Since May 2006, the Shaanxi Province Women's Prison has used more and more ways to torture jailed practitioners. The prison guards force them to remain standing or squatting for long periods of time, hang them up by the handcuffs, don't allow them to wash themselves, subject them to sleep deprivation, force-feed them, expose them to the elements for long periods of time, deny them use of the toilet, poke them with needles, and spit in their faces. Guards beat practitioners with police batons, kick them and pull their hair. No one was allowed to be released without writing a guarantee statement promising to give up Falun Gong. -
Torture Suffered by Ms. Wang Yaling and Zhang Jingyan from Liaoyang County, Liaoning Province
2009-02-27Falun Gong practitioners Zhang Jingyan and Wang Yaling are from Bailaowu Village in Liaoning Province. Their repeated arrests and subsequent sentencing at the hands of police has led to all manner of excruciating tortures for them. Wang Yaling suffered all kinds of inhuman torture at the Masanjia Labour Camp, including beatings, electric shocking, sleep deprivation and other forms of abuse. The guards tried to force each practitioner to give up his or her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She witnessed another practitioner, Yang Chunfang, who was beaten to disability for refusing to give up her belief. -
Ms. Jiang Guiyun, Ms. Cao Jingyun and Other Practitioners Tortured at Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp in Jilin Province
2009-02-27Ms. Jiang Guiyun, 59, was arrested while visiting her sister in Changchun City, Jilin Province. She was jailed in Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp in Changchun City on August 7th, 2008. She remains there and is denied contact with anyone. As a result, Ms. Jiang suffered a stroke and lost her ability to walk. Guard Liu Shuxia, prison doctor Chen, and prison doctor Wu tied Ms. Jiang to a "Dead Person's Bed" and injected her with an unknown solution. As a result, Ms. Jiang suffered severe heart pain. At present at the forced labour camp, she continues to be forcibly injected intravenously.
