Disabled Man Hu Shihan and His Wife Ruthlessly Persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)

Mr. Hu Shihan suffered polio as a child resulting in disabled lower legs. He and his wife, Cai Xifeng, began practising Falun Gong in 1998. Since the persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999, they suffered various persecution at the hands of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) thugs, such as being exposed to freezing weather; subjected to brutal beating, torture, and armed siege; brainwashing; and pressure to break up their marriage. They are still under surveillance and the local police and resident committee staff constantly harass and threaten them. In 2001, while Mr. Hu Shihan suffered in the detention centre, his wife also suffered brutal persecution both mentally and physically. While in the detention centre, she was hung by her hands from a steel door frame with heavy metal chains. She was forced to stand for over 24 hours and her feet were severely swollen. -
Outstanding Technician, Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Zhang Jianping Arrested; Hangzhou City 610 Office Agents Prevent Lawyers' Involvement
2011-04-20Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Jianping is the deputy general manager of the Production Technology Department in the Southern Cement Company, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. He was arrested along with his colleague, Mr. Wei Xiang, on November 28th, 2010, by police The two practitioners have been held in custody for four months. During this time, 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) have forbidden their family members from visiting them, have created difficulties for and threatened relatives, and have not allowed lawyers to meet with the two men, claiming that the case is "secret-related." -
Forty-Three Year-Old Engineer from Chengdu City Dies After Repeated Detention and Torture
2011-04-19From 2005 to 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Jiang Yunhong was held in the Chengdu City Xinjin Brainwashing Centre, Chengdu City Detention Centre and Wumaping Prison. As a result of the mistreatment he endured in Wumaping Prison, he suffered from symptoms of ascites and cirrhosis and was in critical condition five times. He suffered brutal torture during detention and was on the verge of death a few times. He was released when term expired in the beginning of 2009, but the doctor told his family that he would not likely live much longer. On March 8th, 2011, Mr. Jiang passed away at the age of 43. -
Ms. Li Xiufeng, 53, from Tangshan City, Dies After Prolonged Mistreatment During Repeated Detentions
2011-04-19On December 10th, 2010, Ms. Li Xiufeng and four other practitioners were handing out leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong in Dongshuiyu Village. Police arrested them and took them to the detention centre. Ms. Li Xiufeng developed hypertension as a result of the persecution. On December 15th, half of her body became numb, and she was released after her family was coerced to pay a three thousand yuan “deposit.” On March 9th, 2011, Li Xiufeng's husband received a phone call from Qianxi Procuratorate office and asked Ms. Li to show up the next day. On March 18th, Ms. Li suddenly had high blood pressure symptoms. She was taken to hospital and passed away on March 19th. -
Terrifying Scenes of Persecution in Qiqihar City
2011-04-19Since July 1999, Qiqihar City officials have continued to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Qiqihar police officers torture practitioners with wooden sticks, hitting their legs till the bones break. They scald their shoulders with hot-water-filled stainless steel cups, then move to other parts of the bodies when blisters appear; bind them to beds; force them to sit on metal chairs for long periods; pour cold water on them in the winter; shock the women's breasts and genitals with electric batons; tape their mouths shut; gag them with socks; deprive them of sleep; and beat them with metal rods and hammers. -
Ms. Lu Ran Arrested for the Seventh Time – Her Family in a Difficult Situation
2011-04-19Police arrested two Falun Gong practitioners on March 25th. Mr. Gai Wufan, was released, while Ms. Lu Ran is being held in Hebei Women's Forced Labour Camp. During the past 11 years of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong, Ms. Lu has been detained in a forced labour camp twice. Her mother was arrested several times and was subjected to beatings, extortion, and brainwashing. -
First Hand Account of Falun Gong Practitioner Yang Zhonggeng – Tortured in Ruian City, Zhejiang Province
2011-04-18When Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Zhonggeng was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution ten years ago, he was arrested by the police of Rushan City, Shandong Province. He suffered inhumane torture – shocked with a high voltage electric baton, injected with unknown drugs and brainwashed. He went on a hunger strike to protest. In his words: "I was force-fed. I was held down by prisoners and a rubber tube was inserted into my stomach through my nostrils. My nose and throat were bleeding and it was extremely painful. Force-feeding like this is life threatening and I would rather die than live like this." -
Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Gao Mingxia Held at Qingdao City Detention Centre
2011-04-18Ms. Gao Mingxia is a Falun Gong practitioner from Qingdao City, Shandong Province. She has been held in the Qingdao No. 3 Detention Centre since July 11th, 2010. When her husband tried to get her out of detention he was harassed by different branches of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He ended up getting seriously ill, and died on March 8th, 2011. Because Ms. Gao refused to give up her belief, officials forbade her from seeing her husband before he died. -
After Being Held in Forced Labour Camps, Zhou Yandong, 40, Is White-Haired and Can Barely Walk
2011-04-18Forty-year-old practitioner, Zhou Yandong, was sentenced to forced labour camps three times. He was then moved to a brainwashing centre, where his hair turned white. Currently, he has a haggard face, an extremely weak body, and can barely walk. On March 20th, 2010, Mr. Zhou was arrested in Shuangyan District while he was exposing the persecution to a member of the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). He was sentenced on April 3rd to one year in the Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp in Changchun City. He was abused there, began vomiting blood and had a fever for a very long period. -
Spaceflight 7111 Factory Withholds Falun Gong Practitioners' Earnings
2011-04-18The Spaceflight 7111 Factory closely follows the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)directive of “economically depriving” practitioners. This policy is bankrupting practitioners who work at the factory, struggling for survival, and are living close to the poverty line. In March and April 2000, practitioner Ms. Wang Meizhen was arrested and detained at the Wenjiang Detention Centre for fifteen days. Jia Youngfu, former Party secretary of the Spaceflight Factory, fined Ms. Wang 3,800 yuan, of which, 3,000 yuan was the factory's fine and 800 yuan was a fine to be paid by the factory's managers due to the CCP's implication policy, but taken from Ms. Wang. The factory also withheld her salary for a year, which came to around 6,000 yuan. -
Ms. Liu Xinyu Recounts Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Brainwashing and “Transformation”
2011-04-17To my regret, I left Falun Gong cultivation for almost two years, between June 2001 and February 2003. That was the time when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents “transformed” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] me. I was detained at Chongqing Maojiashan Women's Forced Labour Camp, where I was brainwashed with information that defamed Falun Gong, force fed, forced to stand all night long, and beaten brutally. I was subjected to torture, humiliation and mistreatment. I was sometimes hung up by handcuffs. The cruellest torture was “carrying a sword behind the back.” One hand was pulled down over the shoulder behind the back, and the other hand pulled up from the waist behind the back then handcuffed to the other hand. The pain was unbearable. -
Jinan City Resident Ms. Huang Min Tortured to the Point of Mental Collapse
2011-04-17Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Huang Min was arrested in October 2006 and sent to the First Women's Forced Labour Camp in Jinan City. She was tortured until she suffered a mental collapse. She was transferred to Lashan Mental Hospital of Jinan in October 2007, immediately after she finished serving her term at the forced labour camp. She was held in the mental hospital for over a year. In February 2011, Ms. Huang's husband and older brother—who have both been deceived by the Chinese Communist Party's propaganda defaming Falun Gong—forcibly sent her to the mental hospital again. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Li Zhanjin, a Senior Engineer from Beijing Imprisoned
2011-04-17Ms. Li Zhanjin from Beijing is a former senior engineer at the Qingniao Company affiliated with Beijing University. She was forced to quit her job. She was transferred from the Haidian Detention Centre to Beijing Women's Prison on March 24th, 2011, where she is currently undergoing forced brainwashing. Ms. Li was arrested by police for practising Falun Gong on December 29th, 2009. Haidian Court officials tried her in July 2010. Ms. Li's lawyer entered a non-guilty plea for her but the court still sentenced her to three years in prison. -
Ms. Zhang Ying Suffering in a Shanghai Women's Prison
2011-04-17In June 2010, Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Zhang Ying was sentenced to two years and six months imprisonment by officials of the Changning District 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and the Shanghai court. She is currently imprisoned in Songjiang Women's Prison in Shanghai, where she is being brutally tortured. In November 2010, Ms. Zhang was beaten and verbally abused by four inmates, who shared the same cell with her. -
Falun Gong Practitioners Severely Abused in Lanzhou Prison
2011-04-16In order to pressure practitioners to renounce Falun Gong, Lanzhou Prison forces them to do hard labour. Prison officials assign three criminals as personal monitors to deal with every practitioner. The selected criminals are the most vicious ones. In order to carry out the quota assigned by their leaders, to “transform” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] 98 per cent of the practitioners, they use very brutal tactics. They have used high voltage electric batons, rubber batons, and other instruments to beat practitioners. Practitioners were forced to stand or sit from 6:00 a.m., when they got up, until 10:00 p.m., the time they went to bed. After a period of time, their legs swelled and their buttocks developed painful sores. They were often punched and kicked by their personal monitors.
