    On July 1, 2009, Falun Gong practitioners in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, held a rally in Essen City, peacefully protesting the ten-year brutal persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The activities included an anti-torture exhibition, a Falun Gong exercise demonstration, and a signature collection to condemn the persecution.

    On 20th July 2009, practitioners in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, organised a rally on SNP square to commemorate ten years of persecution against Falun Gong in China. They handed out leaflets and talked to people about how the Chinese Communist Party has used all means at its disposal to force Falun Gong practitioners to renounce their belief.

    A PROTEST was held yesterday outside the Chinese embassy in Dublin by the Irish Falun Dafa Association to mark 10 years of a Chinese government ban on the Falun Gong spiritual movement... Yesterday's protest was preceded by a rally in Dublin city centre on Saturday and a candlelit vigil held outside the embassy on Sunday night.

    On Monday July 20th, Falun Gong practitioners in Liechtenstein called for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong in China by holding an activity in front of the parliament and government buildings in Vaduz, the capital city.     On July 18, 2009, the Paris Administrative Court issued an ordinance to rescind a Paris police ban forbidding the Falun Dafa Association of France from holding protests in front of the Chinese Embassy on July 20. The ordinance was sent to the French Ministry of Interior Affairs. Since the persecution of Falun Gong started on July 20, 1999, this is the very first time that the association has received permission to rally outside the embassy.

    The men from China's national security brigades came for Natalie Qiao's parents at 10pm on 8 June. Five young men in plain clothes bundled the elderly couple into an unmarked car. Ten years after the prohibition on Falun Gong was ordered by China's former leader Jiang Zemin, commencing a brutal crackdown on its adherents, believers such as Qiao's parents are still being pursued, despite international protests.

    On July 11, practitioners held a rally and march in front of the Chinese Embassy in Berlin calling for the disintegration of the CCP and an end to the persecution. Representatives from German Falun Dafa Association, Society for Threatened Peoples and International Society for Human Rights gave speeches at the rally.

    Practitioners introduced Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, and its principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance to the public. They also exposed the ongoing persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China. When people read about the persecution of Falun Gong, many of them signed the petition calling for an end to the human rights abuses.

    Practitioners held an information day to let people know the latest news about the ongoing persecution in China by the Chinese Communist Party. Petition signatures were collected from local people who wanted to call for an immediate end to the human rights abuses against China's Falun Gong practitioners, which include the harvesting of their organs for profit.
  • Russia: "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" International Art Exhibition Opens in Moscow

    At 5:00 p.m. on July 1, 2009, the "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" International Art Exhibition opened at the Moscow National Exhibition Hall. Local cultural officials, the manager of the exhibition hall, and several artists came to give congratulatory speeches at the grand opening. Reporters also attended the ceremony.
  • Norway: A Westerner Who Promoted the Shen Yun Performances

    On March 14 2009, the New York Shen Yun Performing Arts company went to Norway for the first time, doing two performances in the Oslo Music Hall to the audience's delight. It might have surprised some in the audience that the show could not have happened without the tireless efforts of volunteers, many of whom were Westerners promoting a show mainly focused on Eastern culture.
