  • 65-Year-Old Ms. Wu Fengying Brutally Beaten in Wanjia Forced Labour Camp - Belated Information

    Sixty-five-year-old Ms. Wu Fengying was sent to Wanjia Forced Labour Camp in Harbin City in 2002. While there she was forced to do labour, was savagely beaten, and had six of her teeth knocked out. In 2001 she was also detained in a detention centre. She recalls the persecution: "We were given food with grass, coal dust, and rat droppings in it, as well as sparse vegetable soup with flies, ladybugs, and caterpillars the size of my little finger. Furthermore, we were forced to work the field, dig up dirt, feed hogs, sweep the floor, wipe the windows, wash cars, and do laundry for the guards."
  • Mr. Ji Liewu Is Imprisoned For Twelve Years, His Mother Dies From a Broken Heart

    On April 26th, 2010, Mr. Ji Liewu's 85 year old mother died from a broken heart. In his hometown Mr. Ji Liewu is well known for his talents, and had been an active participant of the Falun Gong Research Association in Beijing since its early years. His parents loved him very much. However, on December 26th, 1999, he was sentenced to twelve years in prison. His parents tried so many times to visit him, but were never allowed. His father died three years ago, with the regret over never having been able to visit his youngest son. His mother, missed her son even more. Mr. Ji's relatives could not bear to see her like that, and told the village officials, "What is wrong with practising Falun Gong? Who else are good people in this society? It is inhuman not to let her see her son!" The village officials had no reply.
  • In Violation of the Law, the Heping District State Security Department Refuses to Release Ms. Shu Dongan

    The Heping District State Security Department's charges against Falun Gong practitioner Shu Dongan were rejected twice by the local Procuratorate. But the State Security Department still refused to release this 56-year-old woman after she was detained for nearly five months. According to the law, if the same case is rejected twice by the Procuratorate, the person should be released unconditionally.
  • Ms. Fu Hongxia, 45, Dies as a Result of Years of Persecution

    After the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, practitioner Ms. Fu Hongxia was repeatedly harassed and subjected to brainwashing. She was arrested four times and imprisoned in a forced labour camp for two years. The guards used every possible means to try to "transform" [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] practitioners, including brainwashing, overtime forced labour, sleep deprivation, brutal beatings, and torture. Ms. Fu went on hunger strikes on many occasions to protest her imprisonment. She was subjected to verbal and physical abuse, as well as brutal forced-feedings. Ms. Fu's health deteriorated. Ms. Fu died on March 3rd, 2010.
  • Mother Left Us in Miserable Pain

    After the persecution against Falun Gong started on July 20th, 1999, my mother decided to go to Beijing to appeal in October 1999. Beijing police arrested her. She was detained in Jiamusi City Detention Centre and fired from her job. With cold wooden boards to sleep on, thirty practitioners were locked in a room. Some had to sit on the floor over night. Practitioners went on hunger strikes many times, and they were tortured with brutal force-feeding of highly concentrated salt water plus corn meal. After 11 months of such inhuman mistreatment, my mother, who went in with a healthy body, came back home emaciated. Mother was injected with unknown drugs that permanently damaged her nerves. During another detention, she was tortured with "Back cuff," which was extremely painful, and disabled her arm. Later she fell sick and died on April 25th, 2010.
  • Account of Persecution Suffered by Female Practitioner from Shandong Province

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Lu Hua was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment at the Shandong Province Women's Prison in October 2001. Ms. Lu refused to give up her beliefs. She was brutally beaten by nine inmates for over ten hours, resulting in the inch-long gash on her forehead. She bled profusely from it and her vest was soaked. She received six stitches from the hospital and then was sent to solitary confinement for 15 days. Due to the large amount of blood loss, she felt dizzy and suffered headaches. One night, four inmates beat Ms. Lu using hard plastic rods. They kicked and beat her for over an hour, causing her body to be covered in bruises. The next day, she was not able to walk.
  • Mr. Tong Jinfu, 60, Dies After Seven Years on the Run to Avoid Persecution

    After Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong in July 1999, officials in Mr. Tong's village had people monitor practitioners. Police arrested and detained Mr. Tong Jinfu at the police station several times. They also took him to the Xinbin County Detention Centre twice. In 2003 he was released from detention in a very weak state. Despite his weakness Mr. Tong lived in other cities for the next nearly seven years to avoid persecution. In April he fell into a coma and went to hospital. Mr. Tong Jinfu passed away on April 24th, 2010.
  • Wife Dies Due to Persecution--Husband in Serious Condition

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Kaiming lost consciousness and was in danger of losing his life on April 14th, 2010, after being persecuted by prison guards at Panjin Prison in Liaoning Province. Mr. Wang was granted medical parole by the prison authorities but local police head Zhao Yanhua refused to authorise it. Mr. Wang Kaiming's wife Yao Guilan died due to persecution last August because she exposed the persecution.
  • Ms. Tian Shaoyan Mentally Impaired from Persecution at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Tian Shaoyan has been severely persecuted by the staff at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. She is in critical condition and semi-conscious. In September 2000, Masanjia Forced Labour Camp guard Huang Haiyan beat Ms. Tian's mouth until it was bleeding, used two electric batons to shock her hands, feet, neck, and chest, tore out much of her hair, and forced her to squat and stand for extended periods, in attempts to "transform" [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] her. In February 2004, because Ms. Tian was forced to do so much manual labour in the rubber department at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp, she became poisoned from the toxic substances.
  • Mr. Qi Guangfa Sentenced to Prison, Grief-stricken Parents Pass Away

    At the beginning of December 2009, Mr. Qi Guangfa was arrested by agents of the Public Security Bureau and Domestic Security Brigade of Linghai City, where guards subsequently forced a confession from him. In early April 2010, Mr. Qi Guangfa was secretly and sentenced to three years and six months of imprisonment by the Linhai City Court. On April 13th, Mr. Qi was taken to Nanshan Prison of Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. Upon hearing that her son was put into prison (the court did not inform Mr. Qi's family about his sentence), Mr. Qi's elderly mother passed away, unable to say goodbye to her beloved son.
  • After Persistent Efforts, Family Finally Allowed to See Brutally Mistreated Loved One at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp

    Mr. Sun Yi was arrested by officials prior to the Beijing Olympics. Later, they transferred him to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. His family discovered that Sun Yi has been brutally tortured for the last two years in the notorious Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. Through difficult negotiations, Sun Yi's sister was able to see him on March 26th, 2010, through a thick piece of soundproof glass, but could not talk to him. The meeting room was monitored by almost ten guards, creating an atmosphere of terror. Sun Qing saw her elder brother, who was being helped by others as he could barely walk. He no longer looked like a young and strong person, he looked pale, and seemingly had no energy to talk.
  • Elderly Ms. Su Zebi from Chongqing City, Sichuan Province Dies as a Result of Persecution

    In May 2008, Ms. Su Zebi was arrested by police. In June 2008, she was sent to the Chongqing Women's Forced Labour Camp for one year, where she suffered tremendously, both physically and mentally. She was released on June 1st, 2009, but police repeatedly harassed and threatened her after that. If they could not find her, they would harass her daughter and son-in-law. Ms. Su's health continued to deteriorate, and she passed away on November 14th, 2009, at the age of 71.
  • Award Winning Taxi Driver Zhang Chen, 55, Persecuted and Sentenced to Three Years

    Once taxi driver Mr. Zhang Chen started practising Falun Gong in 1999, his neck pains disappeared. As a Falun Gong practitioner he also lived by the universal principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance, and this helped rid him of his bad temper. From then on he always considered others first. Soon, his company recognised the profound changes in Mr. Zhang, and he was awarded the title of "Outstanding Professional Driver." When the persecution started in July 1999, Mr. Zhang appealed for an end to the persecution and was detained and tortured. In October 2009, Mr. Zhang put up another banner saying "Falun Gong Is Good", and was arrested and to a detention centre, where he was brutally beaten. He was sentenced to three years at a court hearing.
  • Prosecutor Disregards the Law in Trial of Mr. Zhao Wuhu

    On April 23rd, the Xiong County Court in Hebei Province tried Falun Gong practitioner Zhao Wuhu. In court, the prosecutor said many things that had no legal basis. The spectators said that the prosecutor's conduct was shameful. Mr. Zao Wuhu was an excellent worker, and was rated a superior performer several times. He has been detained in the Xiong County Detention Centre since his arrest by officers from the Xiong County Police Department on September 28th, 2009. During the trial, Mr. Zhao had intended to describe his experience of practising Falun Gong and the benefits he obtained during his turn to speak as a defendant, but was repeatedly stopped by prosecutor District Attorney Su Guoqing.
  • Miao Chunhong and Li Qingzhi Given One-Year Forced Labour Terms

    Mr. Miao Chunhong, who is more than 50 years old, and Ms. Li Qingzhi, who is about the same age, went to Qingshantun to distribute leaflets explaining the truth about Falun Gong so that the Chinese people could understand the unreasonable persecution and what Falun Gong is really about on January 31st, 2010. They were reported and arrested by police. They took Mr. Miao and Ms. Li to the Binxian Detention Centre. They were each sentenced to one year of forced labour on March 2nd, 2010. One of them was to be sent to the Wanjia Forced Labour Camp, and the other to Qianjin Forced Labour Camp in Harbin City.
