The Situation of Practitioners Mr. Zhao Longzhi and His Wife Ms. Luo Na in Tibet Remains Unknown After Eight Months in Police Custody

Tibetan Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Zhao Longzhi and his wife Ms. Luo Na were arrested by local police officers and members of the 610 Office on January 31, 2006. Local police officers and members of the 610 Office became suspicious that Mr. Zhao and Ms. Luo were distributing leaflets exposing the persecution. The officers searched the couple's home and took them into custody. No family visit has been granted. It has been reported that Mr. Zhao Longzhi and Ms. Luo Na were unlawfully held in the Lhasa City Detention Centre. -
Mr. Dai Zhifeng and Mr. Zhou Hui from Anhui Province Sentenced to Long Prison Terms in a Secret Trial
2006-11-26Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Dai Zhifeng and Mr. Zhou Hui were arrested on March 2nd, 2006, in Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province. They were detained in Huaibei Second Detention Centre. On September 29th, the Xiangshan District Court of Huaibei City held a secret trial without notifying their relatives. At the trial Mr. Dai and Mr. Zhou shouted "Falun Dafa is Good! Falun Dafa is Righteous! Please learn the truth about Falun Dafa." They were beaten by court officials. On October 24th, the Xiangshan District Court sentenced Mr. Dai Zhifeng to six years in prison and sentenced Mr. Zhou Hui to seven years in prison--in their absence--and did not notify their families. -
Mr. Liu Xianglong Arrested in Langfang City, Hebei Province
2006-11-25On the morning of October 8th, 2006, two brothers (non-practitioners) of Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Yang Jianpo, who is dying, drove to visit him in the Jidong Prison. Because they did not know where the prison was located, they asked practitioner Mr. Liu Xianglong to guide them. The prison had notified Mr. Yang's brothers to visit, but as soon as they arrived at the prison, more than ten state security agents, led by Liu Yan'guo, from Langfang City arrested Mr. Liu and almost arrested Mr. Yang's two brothers. -
Mr. Lin Mingli in Shanghai Sentenced to Six Years in Prison - His Family Will Appeal
2006-11-23On November 10th, 2006, the Putuo District Court in Shanghai City sentenced Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Lin Mingli to six years in prison. His family immediately appealed the sentence. Mr. Lin Mingli's wife was only allowed to enter the court after requesting several times. The Shanghai City 610 Office planned to severely sentence Mr. Lin Mingli long ago. They failed to find enough proof to sentence Lin Mingli even after a whole year. They read two "personal witnesses" without the people involved present, but Mr. Lin Mingli was still sentenced to six years in prison. -
Two Practitioners in Jinan, Shandong Province Arrested
2006-11-23Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Li Jianmei and Huang Min were speaking to people about the facts of Falun Dafa in a restaurant, and police officers from the 610 Office found them and arrested Huang Min. Ms. Li condemned their actions, so she was arrested as well. Then police went to their homes in Jinan to perform searches. Huang Min had been tortured in a mental hospital in October 2003. Ms. Li Jianmei had been sent to a forced labour camp twice. -
National Security Agents and 610 Office Members in Xiangtan City, Hunan Province Arrest Practitioners
2006-11-22On February 25th, 2006, the national security agents of Yisuhe Town in Xiangtan County suddenly dispatched over a dozen personnel to practitioner Mr. Liu Heqing's home to confiscate his property. They arrested Mr. Liu, put him into the police vehicle, and sent him to the Xiangtan City Mental Hospital with his feet in shackles. Mr. Liu was injected with drugs that suppress the central nervous system. Afterwards, the doctor discovered that his mental condition was normal, but Mr. Liu was not allowed to be released until after the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) congressional sessions were over. -
Two Couples Arrested in Changchun City: Mr. Yang Zhijie and Mr. Yao Yongchun and their Wives
2006-11-20Between 10:00 and 11:00 p.m. on October 9th, 2006, police officers stormed into the homes of Falun Dafa practitioners and arrested two couples: Mr. Yang Zhijie and his wife, and Mr. Yao Yongchun and his wife. Mr. Yao Yongchun and his wife were in bed when police broke into their home. Jiang Qiang robbed them of a bank card worth six thousand yuan and some cash. While the home was being ransacked, the police brutally beat the couple. Mr. Yao Yongchun exclaimed, "How dare you beat a woman in her 50s!" Officer Jiang Qiang rushed over to Mr. Yao, who is 54 years old. While swearing at him, Jiang Qiang beat him until he passed out on the floor and then continued beating him. Mr. Yao's face was covered with blood. -
The 610 Office and National Security Office of Guangshui City, Hubei Province, Persecute Mr. Zhang Pengfei
2006-11-18On Wednesday, September 6th, 2006, Deputy Secretary Hu Dekui of the Guangshui Administration Office in Hubei Province took Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Pengfei to Xiaogan for a brainwashing session. Mr. Hu said, "The order to apprehend Mr. Zhang came all the way from the top. State officials are not allowed to practise Falun Gong, and because Mr. Zhang practises, he must be "transformed." We didn't really want to do this because we don't have the funds and now we'll have to pay a few thousand yuan for his living expenses and send along an official to accompany him." -
The Chinese Communist Party Is Arresting Falun Dafa Practitioners with the Excuse of Protecting the Olympics
2006-11-15On October 30th, 2006, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Fengqiu was arrested by police and sent to the Masanjia Labour Camp in the afternoon. When Ms. Li's family member went to the Taihe District Police Department to request her release, Officer Han Yaobang from the legal justice office told them that Falun Gong was interfering with the 2008 Olympic Games that will be held in Beijing, and hence, all Falun Gong coordinators must be arrested. -
70-Year-Old Couple Liu Yanqing and Yang Zhixiu Arrested in Suining City, Sichuan Province
2006-11-14On October 2nd, 2006, Falun Dafa practitioners Liu Yanqing (70 years old) and Yang Zhixiu (68 years old) were arrested by officers in Pengan County Train Station, Suining City, Sichuan Province during the night when they visited their former classmates. The police also took away their Falun Dafa books and leaflets exposing the persecution that they had with them. Now they are being detained in Pengan County Detention Centre. -
Jilin Province Policeman Beats 80-Year-Old Lady (Photos)
2006-11-11On September 8th, 2006, policemen Liu Zhongping and Liu Feng arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Meng Xiangqi and detained him for 52 days. They ransacked Mr. Meng's home on September 8th, 2006, stole 1,200 yuan in cash, and a vehicle. Mr. Meng's eighty five year-old grandmother missed her grandson who was always so good to her, so she went to policeman Liu Zhongping's house to request the release of her grandson, and she condemned the policeman's shameful act of stealing her grandson's money and possessions. Liu Zhongping cursed the old lady and brutally beat her! -
Seven Practitioners in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province Arrested Within Two Weeks
2006-11-11On the morning of October 6th, 2006, policeman Dong Lixin and others from the Chengfeng District Police Department arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Tie Zhijie and placed him under the department's custody. Two days later, he was detained in the Longfeng Detention Centre. Mr. Tie has been on a hunger strike ever since. Recently, he was taken to the Suihua Forced Labour Camp. Because his life was in danger from being tortured brutally, the camp refused to accept him. The police then took him to the Daqing City Detention Centre. -
Practitioner Mr. Zhang Yan Was Picked Up by Authorities While Travelling on Business in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province
2006-11-10Mr. Zhang used to have what was considered a perfect family: a loving wife, a wonderful child, and a great job with a high income. However, since July 20th, 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party began its ban of Falun Gong, this family has suffered many hardships. This couple (both of them are practitioners) have been detained and lost their jobs. The child has suffered from the loss of her parent's care. The police constantly knocked on their door to disturb, harass, or arrest them. The 12-year-old daughter has bravely endured such horror and worry, never knowing when her mother or father would be taken away unexpectedly. -
Officials Refuse to Release Mr. Liu Guihan, Who is Now in Ill Health after Arrest, Detention and Sentencing to Tuanhe Forced Labour Camp
2006-11-1065-year-old practitioner Mr. Liu Guihan was detained in the Tuanhe Forced Labour Camp on the same day that he was sentenced. On August 16th, 2006, the Shunyi Public Security Bureau sentenced Mr.. Liu Guihan to two years of forced labour. At that time, he had already been detained for more than three months, exceeding the time limit of detention by nearly two-and-a-half months. At this time, Mr. Liu suffered symptoms of severe high blood pressure, yet the forced labour camp refused to release this nearly 70-year-old man because he did not sign a Guarantee Statement to renounce his faith in Falun Gong. -
Police in Huadian City, Jilin Province Arrested and Sentenced Practitioners to "Crack Down on Crime"
2006-11-08Police have been given quotas and the task of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners to prevent cable TV programmes from being tapped. Their orders were, "Rather wrongly arrest than mistakenly release," "This 'crackdown on crime' will end with many arrests and sentences," and "Once caught, they can't be released." Police arrested a 70-year-old lady, who could barely read, accusing her of being involved in cable TV tapping, yet the charges were fabricated.
