Police Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Shao Changzhi from Liaoning Province
2006-07-07
Four officers from the Badao Police Department searched 57-year-old Shao Changzhi's home on June 11th, 2006. They took her to the Badao Police Department where they deprived her of sleep and interrogated her. The police sent Shao Changzhi to a detention centre the next day where she has since been held. -
Elderly Practitioner Ms. Shan Zhiying from Beijing Arrested for the Third Time
2006-07-06Sixty five year-old Falun Dafa practitioner, Ms. Shan Zhiying was arrested for the third time in a coordinated effort by her employer, the local police, and the street community office on June 14th, 2006. She is detained at a brainwashing centre in Beijing. Before this Ms. Shan Zhiying and her husband left Beijing due to the persecution. -
Arrest and Subsequent Release of Falun Gong Practitioner Liu Liping's Lawyer in Hegang City
2006-07-05Xiangyang District Court commenced a trial on June 13th, 2006 against five Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioner Liu Liping's lawyer submitted a "not guilty" plea for her. Liu Liping had told the lawyer of all the severe tortures she had experienced inside the detention centre. He had not imagined that Falun Gong practitioners had been treated so badly. With Liu Liping's request on May 28th, Liu Lijuan's husband and the lawyer went to the police department to ask for the return of 2,500 Yuan confiscated from her. The police said, "The money cannot be returned." Later that day the lawyer was preparing to go to Harbin City and six riot policemen arrested him giving no reasons for the arrest. -
Practitioners Mr. Qiao Jianhui and Mr. Hu Jiancai Unlawfully Sentenced to 4.5 Years by the Yinchuan District Court
2006-06-30The Xingqing District Court sentenced Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Hu Jiancai and Mr. Qiao Jianhui to four and a half years in prison. Both of them have filed appeals. The Yinchuan City Medium Court was scheduled to listen to the case on June 19th, 2006. On June 9th, 2005, Mr. Cai Guojun was tortured until he was paralysed. The police of the Shizuishan State Security Department tortured and battered Mr. Qiao Jianhui and Mr. Hu Jiancai for information that would assist the persecution of Falun Gong -
Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Sha Litian from Tianjin City Arrested
2006-06-29After the persecution began on July 20th, 1999, Mr. Sha Litian was brutally tortured repeatedly. On January 1st, 2003, when he was held in the Jianxin Forced Labour Camp of Tianjin City, the temperature was 15 centigrade below zero (5 degrees Fahrenheit) and it was snowing. All of his clothes were ripped off and he was locked in an iron cage for seven days, with the windows and doors around him opened and an electric fan running. Three to four guards wearing insulated coats used high voltage electric batons to shock him. On June 18th, 2006, he was arrested by police again and taken to the Wuqing District Detention Centre. -
A Teacher Is Sent to Trial After Explaining the True Situation of Falun Dafa in Class
2006-06-27Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Lu Chihua is a teacher. On March 13th, 2006, he was arrested by police from the County Department, and is now detained in Long'an County Detention Centre. Mr. Lu's family hired a lawyer, but the police will not allow the lawyer visit him, and they have been interfering with the lawyer's work. -
Practitioner Ms. Zhang Rongjie on Hunger Strike for More than One Week
2006-06-23We have recently learned that on May 11th, 2006, Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Rongjie was unjustly sentenced to twelve years in prison at the Xinshi District Court in Baoding City, Hebei Province. The charges are related to the incident where some Dafa practitioners tapped into the Tianjin TV network signal and broadcast videos exposing the persecution of Falun Dafa. Zhang Rongjie shouted, "Falun Dafa is good" every morning during her trial to protest the sentence and detention. The guards at Baoding City Detention Centre ordered the inmates to beat her until her face became swollen and she lost all feeling. Zhang Rongjie has protested with a hunger strike opposing the persecution. -
Practitioner Li Miaoneng and Her Daughter from Henan Province Face Unjust Trial
2006-06-22The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) judicial system in Luoyang city, Henan province is attempting to hold a "trial" of Falun Dafa practitioner Li Miaoneng, who has already been tortured in a detention centre to the point of being unable to walk, and her daughter. At present, they are still being detained at Luoyang Detention Centre. She was tortured until she was unable to walk. After she went on a hunger strike to protest, she was ruthlessly beaten. -
Chongqing City Falun Gong Practitioner Zhang Quanliang Framed by Police During Torture Session
2006-06-21Chongqing City Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Quanliang was abducted by police in December 2005. He was hung up and beaten for six days and nights and was detained in Li Ziba Detention Centre, Chongqing City. Police used mind-altering drugs to make Mr. Zhang talk about his work to expose the persecution. Then police used this as evidence to sue him for further persecution. The police submitted a legal document against Mr. Zhang to Yuzhong District Court, trying to put him in jail. -
Mr. Wang Guibing's Experience of Being Arrested in Hebei Province
2006-06-15Mr. Wang Guibing is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Zhangjiakou City. On the night of May 8th, 2006, five security guards from Ximalin Village, and police broke into Mr. Wang Guibing's house and arrested him. He was sent to Kongjiazhuang Detention Centre and was detained there for three nights. During this period, the guards did not allow Mr. Wang to eat or drink. The policemen confiscated all Falun Dafa materials and some personal belongings. -
Four Practitioners Unjustly Tried at the Luzhou City Court; Liang Jinhui, Sick and Disabled, Sentenced to 2.5 Years
2006-06-13On May 10th, 2006, four Falun Gong practitioners, who had been detained for ten months, were sentenced at the court of Naxi District, Luzhou City, Sichuan Province. Liang Jinhui was sentenced to two and a half years, Jiang Jiyun was sentenced to three and a half years, Hu Jingbin was sentenced to two years, with a three-year suspended sentence, and He Shifang was sentenced for a year and a half, with a two-year suspended sentence. The four practitioners were turned in for distributing the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and calling on people to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). -
Four Dafa Practitioners from Anhui Province, Receive Unjust Prison Terms
2006-06-12Practitioner Chen Xiuan went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa in October 1999. Since then he was detained several times and kept under surveillance on his release. On April 25th, 2005, police arrested him a third time and they secretly sentenced him to an thirteen years in prison. The police arrested practitioner Huang Bangjun, 64, and his wife, 63, and sentenced them to three-year and two-year prison terms, respectively. The police also sentenced practitioner Wang Ziqiang to thirteen years in prison. -
Daqing Railroad Authority Arrests Falun Dafa Practitioners
2006-06-12Since July 1999, police officers from the Daqing Railway Station in Heilongjiang Province have been persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. Enticed by cash rewards, officers on duty often stop and search passengers as they please. They use abusive language in the hope of finding Falun Dafa practitioners among the passengers. In 2005, while trying to board the No.2155 Train, a female Falun Dafa practitioner was arrested by three police officers at the checking gate. Zhou Yanwu, the officer at the check gate was rewarded 500 yuan. -
Calling for Urgent Rescue of Eight Dafa Practitioners in Changde City, Hunan Province Unjustly Sentenced to Prison
2006-06-08On December 20th, 2005, 29 Dafa practitioners were arrested in Changde City and a site producing leaflets exposing the persecution was destroyed. Officers from the Wuling District Police Department in Changde City arrested the practitioners and held them at several detention centres. The persecutors tried to obtain more "evidence" through interrogation. On April 21st, 2006, the Wuling District Procuratorate in Changde City issued a citation statement. In this statement the officials falsely accused Dafa practitioners, who follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, of being "members of a criminal gang." -
Liu Tianhou, a 73-year-old Practitioner Was Sentenced to Six Years in Prison
2006-06-06On April 15th, 2006, Yang Shaoliang, the head of the Security Brigade of Huili County, Sichuan Province, and other police arrested Liu Tianhou, a 73-year-old practitioner from Huili County. The police ransacked his home and also took away three other practitioners who were at the home. Mr. Liu was sentenced to six years in prison and is currently being detained in the Huili County Detention Centre, where he is suffering unspeakable persecution at the hands of the police and their agents.
