  • A Summary of My Torture Experiences at the Dalian City Forced Labour Camp and Masanjia Women's Forced Labour Camp

    Because I practise Falun Gong, the police arrested me in 2000. I was eventually given two years of forced labour. Dalian City Forced Labour Camp guards repeatedly tortured me to give up Falun Gong. I was forced to bend down in painful positions and tortured to the point where my whole body was covered with scabies. I had bloody urine and developed a fever. Doctors at the hospital said I would die soon so the labour camp released me. Later I was sent back to the labour camp. Because I refused to recite the labour camp rules they locked me up in a small metal cage. The guards pulled my hands as far away from my body as physically possible and handcuffed each of my hands to the metal cage. Because of the intense physical pain I lost control of my excretory functions.

    After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Gong in July 1999, Mr. Gao Guangchong was placed in leg irons and handcuffs, and was subjected to force-feeding. He was arrested eleven times, sent to labour camp, and forced to leave home to avoid further persecution twice. His home was ransacked numerous times, as well. Currently Mr. Gao's entire body is swollen from torture in Wumaping Prison, and he has been hospitalized in critical condition. His children went to the prison, saw the condition he was in, and requested that the prison release him. They have yet to hear from the prison.

    On August 20th, 2008, I went to distribute flyers about Falun Gong near Jilin Prison. I met a guard from the "joint defence." The guard was about 60 years old. I explained the facts about Falun Gong to him. Instead of listening, he beat me. As a result, my face was injured and turned black. There was a big bump under my left eye and my mouth bled. Three policemen held my arms while the other grabbed my hair. They dragged me and threw me against a wall from a distance of five metres. I heard a "thud," and the back of my head hit the wall firmly, making me dizzy. They threw me against the wall repeatedly, four or five times. I was so dizzy that I could not stand up. They ripped out clumps of my hair.

    Mr. Chen Gang, a thirty six year old Falun Gong practitioner from Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province was arrested by the authorities of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) including police, court and procuratorate. During his detention, because of his practice of Falun Gong, he was mistreated to such an extent that his appearance was that of a man in his fifties. On July 10th, 2009, the corrupt court sentenced him to three years in prison.

    On June 22nd, the flight from Beijing to Frankfurt was delayed for two hours. For Guo Jufeng, who had waited for 17 months, two more hours of waiting were not the end of the world. Guo is an engineer. He was tortured in China for practising Falun Gong. He came to Germany 17 months ago and was granted refugee status in Germany. That day he was waiting for his wife, Ms. Yu Hailing, a medical doctor, and his son, Guo Fangzhou, whom he had never met. After most of the passengers on the Beijing flight had disembarked, Guo finally saw his wife and their son. She was holding him in one hand and the baggage in the other. Tears ran down his face. As he reached for his son, the boy dodged, for Guo was a complete stranger to him.
  • Chengdu City Engineer Ms. Guo Lirong Arrested a Second Time

    Forty-five year-old practitioner Ms. Guo Lirong from Chengdu City in Sichuan Province is a former electrical engineer, having been fired simply because she practised Falun Gong. On the afternoon of July 18th, 2009, Ms. Guo was arrested a second time, while working in the Junxuwan Restaurant in Chengdu City. At approximately 4:30 p.m., police ransacked her home, and confiscated CDs, a computer and other family belongings.
  • After Inhuman Torture, Ms. Guan Yujing, a Judge from Fuzhou City, Is Once Again Arrested

    On June 23rd, 2009, Ms. Guan Yujing was taken away from her home. She is currently being detained at the No. 1 Detention Centre in Fuzhou City. Because she has refused to give up Falun Gong in the face of persecution, Guan Yujing had been sent to a mental hospital twice and was once sentenced to a year of forced labour. On January 14th, 2004, she was arrested while she was at work, and was sentenced to four years in prison. Ms. Guan used to have a happy family, but after her sentencing in 2004, her husband divorced her. Her family has also suffered a lot during these past years of persecution.
  • 610 Office Abducts Retired Professor

    On June 23rd, 2009, members of the "610 Office," and police broke into 73-year-old Ms. Tang Xuzhen's home and arrested her. Ms. Tang is a retired associate professor from Luzhou Medical Institute. Ten years ago, she was diagnosed with nose and throat cancer, but practising Falun Gong cured her. Because she shared her positive experience of Falun Gong with people and told about the persecution of practitioners, she was arrested and detained seven times by the Luzhou City 610 Office. She was detained for two years and sent to a forced labour camp for three years.
  • Ms. Zhang Xinyi from Changsha City on Hunger Strike to Protest Third Arrest

    On July 11th, 2009, the police arrested Ms. Zhang Xinyi and interrogated her. Currently, she is detained in a detention centre. Ms. Zhang has been on hunger strike for three days to protest the persecution. This is her third arrest for practising Falun Gong. In 2002, when Ms. Zhang and her husband were teaching in Cambodia the police arrested them, despite the fact that they showed them their certificates as UN protected refugees and they were deported back to China. Right after they arrived in China, they were detained at a detention centre.

    Ms. Xiaoping Xin, a practitioner from Hunan Province, is imprisoned in the detention centre in Linli. Her current condition is not very optimistic: she is pale, losing weight, has cold hands and feet despite a hot summer, is so skinny that bones are visible, and has swollen ankles and a dark instep. On April 15th members of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) sentenced her to three years in prison. Her family is now preparing to appeal and request her release with a verdict of not guilty.

    The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began its persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999. I went to the Beijing to appeal for justice and was arrested. I had to read lie-filled literature. Guards kept me from sleeping. The constant threats and brainwashing confused me, and I wrote a guarantee statement to give up Falun Gong. An official told me to talk to the media to restore my work unit's reputation. Thinking that I could explain the facts about Falun Gong to the journalists, I agreed. I told them truthfully that I became a good person because I practise Falun Gong. An article published in Modern Scientific Living lied and said how the regime had "reformed" me. It also said that I "attacked" Falun Gong.

    Lawyer Wang Yonghang in Dalian City defended Falun Gong practitioners who were persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party. As a result, police broke into his home on July 4th, 2009 and arrested him and his wife. His wife and elderly mother were also physically assaulted. Wang Yonghang and his wife were both taken to a detention centre. Their family members went to the police station to ask for the couple's release, but the police refused to reveal where they were. In addition, wherever the family went, policemen in plain clothes would beat them.
  • Older Practitioner Ms. Lai Zuhua Recounts the Persecution She Experienced in Chengdu City

    My name is Lai Zuhua and I am 64 years old. I live in Chengdu City. On May 14th, 2004, I took leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong and went to Yulong Street to distribute them. When I had just handed out two flyers, I was captured by police and taken to the nearby Xiyuhe Police Station. From 10:00 p.m. on May 14th to 6:00 a.m. on May 16th, the police did not allow me to go to sleep. They shone three 200-watt electric light bulbs on me and put me in handcuffs. These policemen kept interrogating me about the source of my materials. Later I was taken to a detention centre.

    Ms. Shi Lanfang, in her 70s, was arrested and taken to a brainwashing centre on on April 23rd, where she was held for 42 days. This is Ms. Shi's own account of what happened: "I was about to go grocery shopping when I saw five or six police officers in front of my house. One female officer called out to me and said that she wanted me to accompany her to the community centre to 'have a talk.' I told her that I did not have time. At that point, the police officers dragged me into the car and took me to a place called the 'Law and Order Centre' in Xinjin to try to brainwash me."
  • Police Arrest Ms. Ning Li to Make Way for Communist Leader's Arrival in Liaoning Province

    On July 6th, 2009, police broke into practitioner Ms. Ning Li's home in Xiongyue Town. They then took her to the Bayuquan Domestic Security Division. Afterwards, someone revealed that Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader Xi Jinping was scheduled to visit the region to do inspections on the morning of July 7th, 2009. Everywhere he went, the security was heightened. Practitioners living near the streets where Xi went by were arrested. Guotun Village, Xiongyue Town, where Ms. Ning lived, was one of the inspection sites.
