Dear [UK practitioner],
Thank you very much for your letter regarding the Communist Leader, Jiang Zemin. Like you, I share many of your concerns about human rights abuses which have gone on in China. They have been perpetrated on a significant number of the population and have been perpetrated for many years. I am extremely pleased to be able to support your campaign to bring this individual to justice and I hope that one day we can all live in a fairer and more accountable world.
I am confident that this will be achieved with the opening up of borders and trade with the rest of the world. This I believe will demonstrate once and for all that China cannot be adopting the sort of position that Britain had in the 1870s, namely that of splendid isolation. We all live in a world community and it is important to work together as a world community through the UN and other organisations to ensure that individuals like Jiang Zemin, who is responsible for genocide and crimes against his own people, are brought to justice.
I am confident that many more of my colleagues on [this] City Council will also be supporting your request.
May I wish you the very best of luck in your endeavours.
Yours sincerely
