I am sending you this mail on behalf of Chinese Falun Dafa practitioners. I have been a practitioner of Falun Dafa / Falun Gong for 6 months now. I'm not sure if you have heard of it...it is a spiritual practice that benefits people's health and spiritual well being.
[..]
I and many other Irish people have benefited greatly from Falun Dafa. My health has improved greatly and I have a more positive attitude and outlook. You may have seen some practitioners on O'Connell Street doing the exercises early every morning before they go to work or college. This is how most people started practising in China.
Right now though, it is banned in China. Falun Dafa became popular so quickly in China that the Government began to feel threatened...merely because of its enormous popularity among the Chinese people. Right now there are people who are serving time in Chinese labour camps and prisons. Many are undergoing severe torture and there have also been hundreds killed, although it is hard to know the exact amount. I will send you some of these cases in another mail.
There is a Chinese practitioner now living in Dublin who spent two years in a labour camp and underwent severe torture. He is a student in Trinity College and he was released with the help of the Irish Government and Students from Trinity College. Currently most people don't know about Falun Gong. Most people just hear about it from the media etc who are reporting about it without finding out what Falun Dafa really is about.
The Chinese government have blocked the media so that the Chinese people don't get to hear the truth about Falun Gong. I am sending you this e-mail to ask you to condemn the persecution and also to ask the Irish Government to condemn it. The more people that know the truth about Falun Gong the better. Especially here in Ireland where people are not restricted from hearing about it.
There are currently two practitioners (Yang Fang & Liu Feng) detained in China. They were studying here in Dun Laoighaire College and were detained and arrested when they went back to China to visit their family. Their sister, Dai Dongxue, (currently living in Dublin) is anxious for their release. I am appealing to you to help rescue her sisters. At this moment she does not know what their condition is and would like to know that they will be released because they have not committed any crime. Thank you for your time.
Best wishes and regards
