Ukraine: An Israeli Practitioner’s Experiences During a Stay in Ukraine

Recently I visited the Ukraine and I took advantage of my stay to reveal the facts about Falun Dafa to the people I met. I gave a Falun Dafa workshop at a children’s boarding school in Zporoziya. In the workshop I handed out papers and flyers and I showed the students some pictures from the “Compassion” magazine [a magazine voluntarily compiled by Falun Gong practitioners] and picture albums of activities in Israel. Before the workshop I was told to be serious and tough with the children, but when I started to talk about Dafa there was silence. The children were so interested that they listened attentively to the explanations of the persecution.

On the long bus journey to Kiev, I was disappointed that during my stay I did not meet any Chinese people. I hoped that at the airport in Kiev I would meet some Chinese people and be able to give them Dafa materials and tell them the truth about the Jiang regime’s brutal persecution of Dafa practitioners. After two hours in the city of D’ney-prop-trovek, a Chinese looking man came and sat in front of me. I said to him “Ni Hao” [A Chinese Greeting] and he answered me, so I gave him a flyer with information about Dafa. He asked, “Where did you get this?” and I told him it was from Israel. He nodded his head in understanding and I showed him a yellow shirt, which had “Falun Dafa” and “Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance” written on it in Chinese, Hebrew and English. The man asked where he could get such a shirt and was very interested in it.

This Chinese man read the flyer and commented that in the flyer it was written that people who learn Falun Dafa are killed in China. He said he had also read about it in the newspaper, but didn’t believe that such a horrific atrocity is happening in China. He said that he has lived in the Ukraine for a few years and had already heard that Falun Dafa is good, but he did not believe that the persecution was happening. He also said that Jiang Zemin is bad, but now there is a new leader in China.

I took out the photos and explained to him that the persecution today has recently become worse, even though the president has changed. I showed him the "Compassion" magazine in English. I also let him listen to a tape with the Falun Dafa Music “Pudu” and “JiShi” on it and he concentrated on the music with his eyes closed. I saw that he was deeply excited. He returned the tape to me and kept on looking at the photos. I then took an “S.O.S - Stop The Persecution” badge from my bag and said it was for him. He asked in pain, “Why do they do that?” and started to cry. At that moment he put the pin on his shirt and said he had worked for the Chinese police for four years until 1992. He kept on looking at the photos and said that he has Chinese friends in the city of D’ney-prop-trovek. I gave him more material in Chinese to give to them.

Before I left the bus at the airport I told him, “Tell all the Chinese people you know the truth of Falun Dafa.” I was glad he absorbed the information about Falun Dafa into his heart. Another person has realised the truth.

At the airport, when I was reading “Zhuan Falun” someone approached me and asked, “What is this? Falun Dafa?” I replied that it was and showed him that it said Falun Dafa on my coat. He called his wife and told her with much excitement, “Look, look, Falun Dafa!” He said that 3 years ago he learnt Falun Dafa in London but didn’t carry on. I then showed him the “Compassion” magazine and the photos, and he asked, “What should I do now?” I told him, “It’s never too late to start practising again. Teacher Li tells us to read regularly the book “Zhuan Falun” and to read it time and time again. That is the main thing. Also one should also practise the exercises.”

I told him about the persecution, and that we should tell people the truth about it. He said, “Yes yes, when I get back I should get back to practising Faun Dafa.” I firmly shook his hand.
