While visiting her friends in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, Nancy was arrested for no reason. During eight days of detention and interrogation, she was questioned over and over again, "What is your relationship with the Falun Gong headquarters in the U.S.? [Note: it is well known that Falun Gong practitioners have no organisation, not to mention a so-called headquarters.] Who sent you here? Where do overseas Falun Gong's operating funds come from? [Note: all activities of Falun Gong are free of charge and open to the public. Practitioners hold all activities at their own expense.] Do you know that the FBI has recruited over 2000 spies?" The police even openly told Nancy that they believed that the U.S. government backs and supports Falun Gong financially, and that the western countries led by the U.S have been using the human rights issue of Falun Gong as an excuse in their attempt to overthrow the Chinese Communist Party's rule." All these ridiculous lies are the reasons that foreign citizens are being arrested at will in China, and they are also the excuses used by the Jiang regime to persecute Falun Gong over the past three years.
In China, the law and the media have been reduced to tools used by the government to persecute innocent people and attack dissidents.
Coming to the U.S. from afar, Nancy wants to tell the U.S. government and people how the Jiang regime wantonly slanders and persecutes innocent people, including all who help uphold justice. Many facts during the past three years have proven that Falun Gong is being persecuted without any legal foundation, and all the excuses used for the persecution are slanders and lies. Everything practitioners do to firmly uphold their belief and resist the brutal persecution is open and aboveboard. The Australian government trusts its own citizens, which is the major reason that she was rescued in such a short period of time. Nancy hopes that the U.S. government can also take a stand to uphold justice and protect its citizens as it normally does, and try its best to rescue Charles Li.
While in detention, Nancy was also taken on a tour of the Nanmusi Women's Labour Camp in Zizhong City, Sichuan Province, where she saw with her own eyes how hundreds of Falun Gong practitioners are suffering from various tortures, for example, being forced to stand for extended periods of time, being isolated in small cells and being forcibly brainwashed. In the small cell, she heard someone mention a practitioner's name, which she had seen in an article on the Internet two years ago and knew that she had been detained in this Labour camp. Nancy wants to call upon the international community to help end this inhumane persecution and help free Falun Gong practitioner Charles Li.
