According to Zheng Suya, a practitioner from Taiwan who arrived in Hong Kong around 6:40 p.m. on February 22, at least a dozen practitioners from Taiwan were barred at the Hong Kong Airport for "security" and taken to a small room. The Hong Kong police officers were unable to answer the practitioners' questions, nor could they quote the relevant law enabling them to stop the practitioners from entering Hong Kong. The police arbitrarily signed departure documents for the practitioners and finally used violence to force the practitioners to onto a plane.
The police carried some practitioners onto the airplane. They crudely pulled and dragged female practitioners. During the rough handling, Ms. Zheng's jacket was pulled in such a way that the zipper was pressing on her neck and making it difficult for her to breath. Only after she screamed did the police temporarily let go of her. Ms. Zheng suffered several bruises and abrasions on her arms. Four other female practitioners on the same flight were also treated in a brutal fashion. Another female practitioner Xu Zhirong was forced to board the plane by bending back her fingers.
