On August 9, 2012, the same day that Falun Gong practitioners from Hamburg and Berlin put up an information booth, the pedestrian zone of the 700-year-old city of Eckernfoerde saw a lot of hustle and bustle.

Just as in 2011, practitioners introduced Eckernfoerde citizens and tourists to the meditation practice of Falun Dafa, a qigong practice of the Buddha school. They also informed people about the inhuman persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners perpetrated by the Chinese Communist regime.
Many passersby were drawn to the practitioners' gentle exercise demonstration and watched for a while. When they read about the organ harvesting from living practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), they stopped short and focused intensely. Many were unable to internalize the information. Shaking their heads in disbelief, they approached the practitioners and asked for more information.
Once people understood that practitioners live by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, think of others first and do the gentle exercises, they were stunned and could hardly believe that the CCP has banned the practice and initiated such an inhuman persecution.
Many said, “How is this possible? This is hard to believe!”
In China, practitioners of Falun Dafa are arrested, detained in prisons, forced to perform hard labor in China’s many labour camps, are held in brainwashing centres, see their families destroyed, and some are even killed. It is hard to believe, but the CCP is also involved in harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners for profit in transplantation surgeries.
Despite the risk of being tortured and killed, practitioners in China continue to tell people the facts about Falun Dafa and expose the atrocities committed by the CCP. Eckenfoerder locals were horror-stricken and many recalled the time Germany was ruled by the Nazis.
A number of people were deeply moved and encouraged the practitioners to continue in their efforts. They gratefully accepted the informational materials and promised to spread the information to their friends and relatives.
