Falun Dafa practitioners participated in two Christmas parades in Australia recently: one in Port Adelaide on November 17th, and another in the City of Norwood on November 24th, 2012.
The annual Christmas Float Parade is a very popular event among Australians, and it also marks the arrival of the Christmas season. The variety of Christmas floats symbolises the colourful, multicultural characteristics of the different local areas. The Falun Dafa float both impressed and amazed the cheering crowds of spectators.
A practitioner positioned atop a huge lotus flower on the float demonstrated the fifth Falun Dafa exercis - a sitting meditation - accompanied by the music, Falun Dafa Is Good. Walking behind the float were practitioners dressed in Tang Dynasty costumes, Qing Dynasty princess costumes, and cheongsam dresses, displaying traditional Chinese Han couture culture. A Chinese spectator in the crowd shouted, “Look, they are wearing the symbols of our 5,000 years of Chinese culture. The costumes represent the different dynasties. Wonderful!”
Australians from different ethnicities and races kept cheering and waving their hands, exclaiming, “Beautiful!”
The parades featured nearly 100 floats and lineups, and each lasted for about an hour. Crowds of spectators packed both sides of the parade routes. After the parades, many spectators asked if they could take a photo with the practitioners dressed in costumes of the different Chinese dynasties. Many people said, “Falun Dafa is great!”
