Falun Gong practitioners from Puglia, Italy, recently held a series of activities, introducing Falun Gong to the public and exposing the brutal persecution of the practice in China.
On November 18, practitioners collected signatures in Bari, in support of Falun Gong. In a local church, practitioners talked to the public about the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners for profit. Afterwards, many people signed a petition condemning the brutal persecution and calling for an investigation into the CCP's crimes of organ harvesting. The practitioners also introduced the practice of Falun Gong and spoke about the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.
In October, practitioners organized a public screening of the movie, Free China: The Courage to Believe. The local branch of Amnesty International co-sponsored the screening. The theatre was packed. Many people in the audience had never heard about Falun Gong before, and they were shocked by the brutality of the persecution perpetrated on such a peaceful practice.
After the screening, a volunteer from Amnesty International talked to the audience in detail about the human rights violations in China, especially the persecution of Falun Gong. A number of people expressed that the movie should be screened in more cities, to raise a wider awareness of the situation in China.
