A line formed near a supermarket in Orhideea, Bucharest as pedestrians stopped to support a signature drive held by Falun Gong practitioners on February 21, 2015.
The petition, initiated by Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH), calls attention to the Chinese regime's organ harvesting atrocities and urges the UN Human Rights special rapporteur to help stop the 15-year-long persecution of Falun Gong in China.
Practitioners demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises and passed out Falun Gong literature throughout the afternoon.
As Orhideea is near the train station and a student dorm, many tourists and students in the area stopped to learn about Falun Gong.
Practitioners explained how the Chinese government was behind the harvesting of organs of imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners, while they were still alive, to supply a lucrative transplant operation.
Two Protestants from Nigeria had been aware of the regime's brutality by what they had learned about its persecution of Christians. However, they were shocked and outraged to learn of the organ harvesting atrocities.
A college student didn't know there were still millions of people in China being tortured and forced to perform forced labour. He signed the petition and asked many questions about Falun Gong and the persecution. He was one of numerous students who showed their concern and support.
Background:
Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, has been embraced and practiced by more than 100 million people in more than 100 countries throughout the world since its first introduction to the public in 1992. It was introduced in Romania in 1998 when the first exercise instruction class was held.
The main book of Falun Dafa Zhuan Falun was translated into Romanian and the Romania Falun Dafa Association was established in 2003.
Practitioners in Romania have made great headway in informing the Romanian public about the peacefulness of Falun Dafa and of the brutal persecution in China.
They hope their efforts will help bring the persecution to an end soon.
