Germany: Supporting Freedom for Falun Gong at Berlin's Brandenburg Gate

Practitioners have been gathering at the Brandenburg Gate tourist site every Saturday for the past several years to raise awareness about the gentle meditation practice of Falun Gong, and about the brutal persecution in China. Brandenburg Gate is one of the best-known landmarks in Germany and is a symbol of peace. Built in 1791, it has witnessed the country’s history for centuries.

Falun Gong practitioners tell people about Falun Gong and the persecution in China

An Iranian woman who came to Germany recently stopped at the booth to learn more. Alarmed by the severe suppression depicted on the poster, she asked the practitioners many questions. The woman signed a petition and took informational materials with her.

One pedestrian said he had heard about the persecution in China, but did not know why the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) would do that. A practitioner explained, “This is because the CCP promotes violence and struggle, something contradicting with the principles of Falun Gong, which is, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.”

“Basically, the CCP is afraid of good people,” responded the man.

Based on reports received by the Minghui website, at least 4,000 named Falun Gong practitioners have lost their lives due to torture during police custody.

Several German residents said they had learned about the suppression from a programme on 3SAT earlier this year. Human Harvest, an award-winning documentary exposing organ harvesting from imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners in China, was aired by the television network of 3SAT in Germany on February 18, 2016.

Two tourists from another European country took notice of the banner on organ harvesting. “What is this?” asked one of them.

“This is what Falun Gong practitioners have suffered from in China for their belief,” explained a practitioner. Because Jiang Zemin, the former dictator of the CCP had given orders of suppressing practitioners though violence and slanderous hate-propaganda, the persecution intensified after it started in July 1999. There is a lot of evidence that has confirmed that the regime has harvested organs from living Falun Gong practitioners in China.

The two tourists signed the practitioners' petition and thanked them, saying, “We have to do something to stop such horrible crimes.”
