Practitioners from Croatia and Slovenia held an event on July 23, 2016 in the Croatian town of Opatija to inform the public about Falun Gong and the persecution. Located on the Adriatic coast, Opatija attracts many tourists during the summer months.

Passersby, including many tourists from around the world, expressed great interest in learning more about Falun Gong and the persecution in China. They were happy to take flyers and signed the petition calling for an end to the Chinese regime's killing of practitioners in China for their organs.
Amid the crowded streets of Opatija, people approached the booth, took flyers, observed practitioners while they demonstrated the exercises, and asked questions about the persecution. Many from Croatia and neighbouring countries wanted to know how and where they could learn Falun Gong.
