The Minghui.org website recently confirmed that two Falun Gong practitioners in Maanshan City, Anhui Province were persecuted to death in 2005 and 2009, respectively, after being tortured while in police custody.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chines communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Chen Shoudao
Mr. Chen Shoudao credited Falun Gong for improving his health, and he never shied away from telling people about it. Because he promoted Falun Gong, the police ransacked his home three times and detained him at the local police station for three days shortly after the persecution began in 1999.
Mr. Chen was held at the Penshan Farm Brainwashing Center in 2004 and then sent to the Maanshan City Detention Center when he still refused to renounce his faith after the brainwashing session.
During the winter season in December 2004, the detention centre guards forced him to sit on a concrete floor every day while they poured cold water onto his head. They also deprived him of sleep and didn't provide him with any comforter.
He was on the verge of death by late January 2005, and was carried home by the guards. He vomited everything he ate, could only drink a little water, and was extremely emaciated. He passed away five months later, on June 25, 2005. He was 73 years old.
After Mr. Chen's tragic death, the police returned and ransacked his home again. They even removed his bed and dug a hole in the ground, claiming that he had buried something there. The police looted almost everything from his home, leaving his wife deeply terrified.
Mr. Yin Xianliang
Similar to Mr. Chen, Mr. Yin Xianliang was sent to Penshan Brainwashing Center in November 2004 after he was reported for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was also sent to Maanshan Detention Centre for further persecution after he refused to renounce Falun Gong.
The detention centre guards savagely beat him and force fed him with faeces.
Mr. Yin was given two years of forced labour on December 21, 2004. He was already emaciated and in critical condition when he was taken to the Nanhu Forced Labour Camp.
The labour camp rejected him due to his condition, and the police left him outside on the street, then left. A goodhearted passerby called his family for him, who then came and took him home.
Mr. Yin's health continued to deteriorate upon returning home. He died in August 2009. He was in his 60s.
