Falun Gong practitioners in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand have submitted a third list of perpetrators involved in the persecution of Falun Gong to their respective governments.

Similar to the last two submissions, individuals on the list face sanctions of being denied entry and freezing of personal assets for their human rights crimes. The last two lists were submitted in September and November 2019, respectively.

Since late last year, several significant steps have been taken in the international community to advance laws to protect human rights.

On December 9, 2019, Josep Borrell, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs announced that they had launched “the preparatory work for a global sanctions regime to address serious human rights violations, which will be the European Union equivalent of the so-called [Global] Magnitsky Act of the United States.” He also signalled that this is a “clear priority for Europeans.”

Following in the footsteps of the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., which have passed laws to bar the entry and freeze the assets of foreign officials implicated in serious human rights violations, the Australian government is currently considering Magnitsky-style legislation against foreign leaders involved in human rights abuses.

In the U.S., Falun Gong practitioners are working closely with government agencies and human rights organizations to provide detailed information about the perpetrators involved in the persecution and assist officials to better enforce the sanctions.

Minghui.org is constantly updating its website with perpetrators’ personal information and crimes committed against Falun Gong practitioners. So far, a total of 105,580 perpetrators have been identified.

More lists of perpetrators involved in the persecution of Falun Gong will be compiled and submitted to democratic governments for sanctions.

Clearharmony calls on officials in China to immediately stop following the persecution policies and make up for the harm they have caused to Falun Gong practitioners.
