It was recently confirmed by Minghui.org that Mr. Xing Wuqiang passed away one and a half years after he was released from a four-year term for practising Falun Gong, a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Mr. Xing, a resident of Xinji City, Hebei Province, was arrested on April 24, 2008 for putting up posters and messages about Falun Gong. He was beaten by police and sent to the Xinji City Detention Center three days after his arrest.

His family was extorted for 1,500 yuan when they visited him at the detention centre.

The local court secretly sentenced Mr. Xing to four years in Jidong Prison in late 2008.

As Mr. Xing was denied visitation, his family mailed money to him several times, but he never received it.

By the time he was released in April 2012, Mr. Xing was emaciated and very weak. His health continued to deteriorate, and he passed away around October 2013.

Upon being released, Mr. Xing once told his family that he'd spent the last four years mostly in the prison hospital. The guards gave him IVs every day but didn’t tell him what he was receiving. His family suspected that the guards administered toxic drugs. But when they asked him more about what happened, Mr. Xing became very disturbed and wouldn't disclose further information.

After the communist regime ordered the persecution of Falun Gong, Mr. Xing was arrested several times for his faith. He was first seized in 2000 and extorted for 3,000 yuan by the authorities.

He was arrested again in 2003 for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong and given two years of forced labour.

The guards at Wanjiazhuang Forced Labour Camp hung him up by the wrists and savagely beat him.
