January 27th 2023 was international holocaust remembrance day, and on this day Falun Gong practitioners came to practice the exercises and meditate in front of the Chinese embassy. They protested for an end to the CCP’s 23 years of persecution against people who follow the principles of Zhen Shan Ren (Truth Compassion Tolerance).
On the next day, some Falun Gong practitioners went to a shopping centre in Kamppi, Helsinki, demonstrated the exercises, handed out flyers and told people more about the persecution.
Portraits of the Falun Gong practitioners who were persecuted to death by the CCP drew the attention of passers by, and many people stopped in their steps to sign their names on a petition in support of Falun Gong practitioners.

Sofia told practitioners with tears flowing from her eyes, “It really is very sad.” Jenni, on her way to a yoga class said: “You have done a very important thing, thank you for your persistence.”
Goseph, an engineer from France, was with his wife from Taiwan on a trip around Finland. His wife was talking to him about the persecution of Falun Gong. During the event there was a lot of snow, and we were surprised to see Goseph bend down, and gently brush away the snow on the portraits of the deceased practitioners, carefully reading. As they left, the Taiwanese wife put her hands together in the prayer position and said "Falun Gong is truly great!”
The Characters “Jieshu Zhonggong” (“End the CCP”) on the display board drew in Juha and Janne’s attention. Juha said: “I don’t like the way the CCP does things, which has held power for 70 years, and which has continued to destroy human rights. In the Chinese communist system one can very rarely find democracy or freedom. The CCP uses systematic means to cheat the people, which sounds very frightening. Luckily, some people already see through it.”
A Finnish person repeatedly told practitioners that the “CCP is truly very bad”. He said: “I am very sad, the CCP doesn’t allow for anyone to have their own individual personality, they don’t let people know the truth. The CCP has been big and powerful for so many years, and they could destroy anything wilfully. During the pandemic they made it so that the world's people had no way to go on a regular journey, but the CCP is even more frightening than the epidemic. I sympathize with Falun Gong. Falun Gong is not dangerous, it is the CCP that is dangerous. I would like to say to the CCP, “don’t oppose Falun Gong.”
In the end he told practitioners, “I am a Christian, we must yield to the will of God. However the CCP doesn’t allow people to have faith in the divine.”
Sana was taking her child to the candy shop, and upon seeing our activity she stopped to sign the petition against the persecution. She signed whilst quietly wiping the tears from her eyes. She said: “As people, it’s impossible for us not to have our own opinions. Every one of us has his own life, we can not be controlled like this, or detained like this. This is not right!”. In the end she hoped that Chinese people would “Keep strong and take care for their safety.”
