A father, mother and their daughter used to go to the practise site before July 20, 1999 to practise and spread Falun Dafa. After July 20, 1999, the family went to Beijing several times to appeal. The parents were jailed illegally a few times. After 2000, the father often rode his three-wheeler with his wife and their daughter, carrying large amounts of truth-clarifying materials to distribute over a large area. Oftentimes Dad would ride the three-wheeler, while Mum and the daughter would distribute the material on each side, finishing the whole street in a single pass. After distributing the materials, the family would sit together and study the Fa [the teachings of Falun Gong]. Sometimes the parents felt tired after the day's work. The 12 year-old daughter would remind them, "Dad, Mom, let's study the Fa."
Once the mother was arrested by the police when distributing truth-clarifying materials. The daughter went to jail to visit her and told her, "Mom, you need to have righteous thoughts. Do not cooperate with the evil persecutors. The way to get out of jail is to go on a hunger strike in protest." Watching her daughter's innocent face, the practitioners nearby couldn't hold back their tears. How can an adult not do well when a child has such righteous thoughts?
So the mother began a hunger strike in jail. After holding a hunger-strike for 15 days, the police guarding her thought that she was dying and let down their guard. She took that opportunity and escaped that night when the two policewomen guarding her fell asleep. After the escape she was forced to stay away from home. Not being able to find her after going to her house several times, the police arrested her husband, accusing him of having given a truth-clarifying disk to a policeman some time ago. He was illegally sentenced to three years in a forced-labour camp. In the labour camp, he went on a hunger strike for twenty days and was taken to the hospital. Currently his condition is unknown.
The mother went to a different city to work on some Falun Dafa materials, and was later arrested when the police broke into the distribution centre. She refused to tell the police her name and address, but they found out and sent her back to jail there.
The twelve-year old daughter, young Guan Jing (alias), went to school as usual and persisted in doing truth-clarifying after school. There was no doubt that she was under tremendous pressure, but she never cried. Everyday she went to her grandparents' house to eat, but she never complained. Seeing Guan Jing's miserable condition of having no money and facing the possibility of dropping out of school, some local practitioners donated a few hundred Yuan to help. They gave the money to Guan Jing and told her their intention. After thinking for a while Guan kept one hundred Yuan for the tuition, but returned the rest to the practitioners. She told them, "Why not use the money for the truth clarifying materials. All I really need is the tuition for school." The practitioners were all very moved by her actions.
