United States: Washington DC Practitioners Peacefully Appeal in the Rain to Commemorate 1999 Zhongnanhai Appeal

On April 25, 1999, more than 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners peacefully gathered outside the Appeals Office of the State Council in Beijing to request the authorities to release more than 40 Falun Gong practitioners who had been arbitrarily detained in Tianjin. Thereafter, Falun Gong received widespread international attention.

Four years have passed. Beyond the expectation of the evil force headed by Jiang, every genuine Falun Gong practitioner has kept unshakable righteous thoughts in the face of brutal suppression, and completely destroyed any attempts to eradicate Falun Gong. Falun Gong practitioners have been using their unique peaceful manner to appeal and let their voices be heard in every corner of the world. More and more people can see clearly Jiang's evil nature through the persecution of Falun Gong.

On April 25, 2003, in the rain, Falun Gong practitioners from the Washington area held a press conference outside the Chinese Embassy to commemorate this day, to condemn and expose the Jiang regime's lies that have deceived many people, to demand an immediate end to the persecution of Falun Gong and the immediately release of American citizen Charles Li.

The appeal began at 5:00 p.m., the practitioners continuously practised the Falun Dafa exercises and sent forth righteous thoughts. They held banners reading, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," "Righteous thoughts demonstrate their mighty power," "Falun Dafa is good," and "Immediately stop the persecution of Falun Gong." The practitioners peacefully stood outside the Chinese Embassy to convey their messages from their hearts. The appeal activity concluded at 8:00 p.m.
