Canada: Practitioners Rally in Montreal's Chinatown to Commemorate the Fourth Anniversary of the Zhongnanhai Appeal

At 5 pm on April 26, Falun Dafa practitioners in Montreal rallied at the Zhongshan Park in the centre of Chinatown to solemnly commemorate the grand peaceful appeal held by more than 10,000 practitioners on April 25, 1999, which shocked the country and amazed the whole world. In the Zhongshan Park, a banner imprinted with words, "Commemorating the Fourth Anniversary of the 4.25 Peaceful Appeal Participated by 10,000 Practitioners" was hung. Many truth-clarifying posters were displayed along the pavement. The continuous spring rain since the early morning stopped just before the activity began. Besides the beautiful group practise site, the originally hasty passers-by also stopped, some looked at the posters, some watched the exercise demonstration, some took photos, and some even started learning the exercises on the spot. This presented an entirely new experience in the Chinatown which has been fed up with the influence of the Jiang regime due to the reports on SARS. Both Chinese people and people from other nationalities who passed by appeared to be very friendly. Almost everyone was willing to accept our materials.

During intervals between the set times when practitioners all over the world simultaneously sent forth righteous thoughts, practitioners performed the Falun Gong exercises. Several practitioners reviewed in Mandarin, Cantonese and English the magnificent peaceful appeal participated by 10,000 practitioners four years ago. They pointed out: Four years ago, practitioners went to the Appeal Office of the Chinese State Department to call for an end to the illegal interference with and persecution of Falun Gong and requested the authorities to allow them to have a peaceful practise environment and to release all practitioners who were wrongfully detained. They used the most peaceful way to appeal, which manifested their selfless and noble realm. Over the past four years, Falun Gong practitioners all over the world have used the same peaceful way to call for an end to the persecution. Their purpose is to explain the facts about Falun Dafa, in that it teaches people to follow the principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance, and to expose the Jiang regime's lies and cruel persecution.

We will continue to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa and to expose the Jiang regime's viciousness in persecuting kindhearted people. Carrying compassion in our hearts, we hope all kind-hearted people will learn the truth and hence obtain a wonderful future.

In their speeches, practitioners also revealed the Jiang regime's covering up the true situation behind the SARS epidemic that has spread throughout China and many other countries around the world. They further exposed the evil nature of the regime in concealing the truth and putting the public's health at stake. Practitioners reminded people to learn about the truth and keep away from lies.
