On May 13 2003, nearly 300 practitioners sat together in a large grassy area of Victoria Park, such that when viewed from a distance above, they formed huge Chinese characters for the words "Zhen-Shan-Ren" ("Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance") as part of local celebrations for the 11th anniversary of Falun Dafa' introduction to the public. At dusk, about 200 practitioners came to Chater Garden for group practice. The celebration concluded with practitioners singing, "Falun Dafa is good."
May 13, 2003 was the Fourth World Falun Dafa Day and marked the eleventh anniversary of Teacher Li Hongzhi's introduction of Falun Dafa to the public. Practitioners in Macao joyfully celebrated this great and sacred day.
At 5:30 pm, practitioners got together at the San Rose Church in Downtown area to introduce Dafa and explain the facts of persecution to the local people. It happened that the San Rose Church was holding an annual activity entitled, "The Virgin Mary Goes on a Journey". Both inside and outside of the church were full of people, which provided a great opportunity for practitioners to clarify the facts. Within an hour, more than 200 balloons imprinted with words, "Falun Dafa -- Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" and over 500 truth-clarifying pamphlets were distributed.
Since 8 pm, practitioners gathered at the park which is opposite to the Chinese Liaison Office to send forth righteous thoughts, study the Fa [principles of Falun Gong, mainly contained in the book Zhuan Falun] and exchange experiences and understandings. Practitioners understood that although there were not many practitioners in Macao, mutual coordination and improvement as a whole become even more important. Practitioners will make good use of time to do well the three things so as to be worthy of Master's merciful saving and to be worthy of the title of "Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples".
On May 13, this year's "World Falun Dafa Day," Saipan Dafa practitioners made two large banners to commemorate the occasion in both Chinese and English. The banners were about 7 meters long and 1 meter tall. With the support of the local government, practitioners hung the banners across 2 high traffic areas of the city. The words on the banners read "Celebrating 5.13 World Falun Dafa Day" and could be clearly seen by the thousands of passersby.
The second Sunday in May is Mother's Day. Dafa practitioners chose this special day for large-scale public celebrations of the 11th anniversary of our compassionate and great Master introducing Falun Dafa to the public.
Citizens on the Chung-Cheng Memorial Hall Square seemed amazed at Dafa practitioners' vitality and the happy atmosphere of World Falun Dafa Day, They stopped and watched practitioners' exercise demonstrations, leisurely walked through various stands at the garden party, or viewed a photo display depicting the Peaceful Journey of Falun Dafa. A group of Western girls watched the group exercise demonstration, and enquired if there was a practice site for English-speaking people.
The concert in the afternoon attracted many people. Young practitioners' lovely singing performance won warm applause from the audience. A practitioner's piano recital was touching. Practitioners in traditional Chinese costumes performed a Fan Dance. Some of my friends had come to watch our performances and were amazed to hear that all performers were Dafa practitioners, including university students from renowned universities, a vocalist who had received professional training from Italy and returned to Taiwan, and young mothers who spent their spare time to practise dance. They were amazed at the Dafa practitioners' versatility and their endeavour on Dafa work!
Using such a way to introduce Falun Dafa is able to touch more and more people's hearts, as the activities involved in great compassion of Dafa practitioners. As for every participant in the activity, such a simple opportunity could become the most precious memory in his or her life.
On the evening of May 13, 2003, Dafa practitioners in Singapore and their friends and relatives got together to celebrate this special day: World Falun Dafa Day. The meeting room was immersed in a pleasant and festive atmosphere. At the front of the stage were two banners reading, "World Falun Dafa Day" and "Happy Birthday, Master." Beautiful handmade lotus flowers formed "5.13" hung on the wall. We respectfully sent our best wishes to Master.
Practitioners presented a variety of art performances, including poetry recital, chorus, "Celebrating in Heaven and Earth," "Looking at the New Universe," and semi chorus, "To Learn about the Truth is a Blessing," and duet, "Thanksgiving." A new practitioner performed the dance "Best Wishes." A group of young Dafa practitioners sang two songs, "Muddy Men" and "Doing Sitting Meditation."
In order to let our non-practitioner friends and relatives learn the truth of Falun Dafa, the TV team showed several short films they produced and "Falun Dafa is Widespread around the World" from FGM TV station. A university student who has just obtained Dafa for eight months shared his cultivation experiences. He not only has eliminated many attachments after practising Falun Dafa, his positive changes also led his mother to become a Dafa practitioner.
Before the celebration concluded, the host thanked the guests for their support and hoped that they would learn more about Falun Dafa and that Dafa would bring them everlasting happiness.
