Denmark: Dalai Lama Receives the Most Precious Gift!

Between the 5th and the 9th of June, the Dalai Lama was in Copenhagen to give a five-day lecture. Around 2000 people attended the lecture. The Dalai Lama had visited Denmark several times before, but this is the first time that he gave an intensive lecture in person here. It turned out to be a golden opportunity to explain the facts of Falun Gong to the Dalai Lama and those who were attending his lectures.

When a few other practitioners and I went to the conference centre, where the lecture was to be held, I had a feeling that we would see him in person. Time was short when he arrived, since the lecture was supposed to start, but he took his time to meet with everyone who was waiting for him. He came to me, shook my hand and asked where I was from. After I replied that I was Danish, but was born in Korea he said “Okay”, and moved on.

When leaving the place, I instantly felt that something was not right. I realised we had missed an opportunity to hand Dalai Lama the most precious gift, Zhuan Falun [the main book of Falun Dafa], and let him know more about Falun Dafa. I knew I had to go back again the next day.

The following day when I arrived, some people were already waiting including two women from Poland. They looked at the book Zhuan Falun in my hands and asked what kind of book it was. After telling them a little about Falun Dafa, one of them was very determined and said “I have to read this special book! I want to read it! Please bring one for me tomorrow and I will meet you here.” I told her that I was going to hand this book to the Dalai Lama as a gift. She replied, in a tone that indicated that the Dalai Lama did not accept gifts very often, “I hope for you that he will take it”.

When the Dalai Lama arrived, he again met with people. As I had already met him the day before, I stepped aside so that the newcomers could get close to him. As I stepped forward to hand him the book, he asked me what kind of book it was. I told him that it was a very unique and precious gift – not an ordinary book. He looked very intensively at the book and asked me if it was a Korean book. I said it was an ancient Chinese book called Zhuan Falun, and that it was very special. One of the men around him said that it was a Falun Gong book. He looked at me, nodded, then looked at the book again and took it. I felt compassion in my heart, and felt very righteous and calm at that moment.

Afterwards, a friend of mine, who was working as a film editor to make a video of the five-day lecture, told me that he had seen Dalai Lama every day and that he very rarely accepted presents from people. “For the Dalai Lama to accept this book, it had to be very special”, he said. This is a great opportunity for the Dalai Lama to learn more about Falun Dafa. I am happy that he has accepted this great gift.
