Holland: Promoting the Fa and Explaining the Facts at the Forest Park in Apeldoorn City

On Saturday June 21, it was a beautiful sunny day in Apeldoorn City and the wind blew gently. The annual large-scale Multi-Cultural Festival was held by the Holland Immigration Bureau and the Refugee Association at the beautiful and quiet Forest Park in Apeldoorn. Between 20,000 and 30,000 people from various places in Holland participated in this festival. Holland Falun Gong practitioners were also invited to demonstrate the five sets of Falun Gong exercises.

Banners were displayed reading, “The World Needs Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance” and “Falun Dafa is Good”. Along with the information boards and the graceful exercise demonstrations, these banners encouraged many people to stop and take a look. Practitioners distributed leaflets and, at the same time, they explained the truth to the tourists. Local TV stations and newspaper reporters interviewed the practitioners about why they were there and what they hoped to achieve.

The former Minister of Development, who is now in charge of immigration affairs, came over to ask about Falun Gong and happily accepted a leaflet from practitioners. On hearing of our coming to promote Falun Dafa and to tell people the truth, one Yugoslavian lady made 10 apple pies as a show of goodwill for practitioners and learned the exercises until the activity ended. One Dutch guy saw the display boards and stood to watch the practitioners’ exercise demonstration for a long time. On seeing this, a practitioner went to talk with him and he said, “I will browse the internet and learn more about Falun Gong after I get home.”

Something unusual deserves to be mentioned here. One 11-year-old child and one 7-year-old child from different families came to learn the exercises. The older boy started to learn the exercises very seriously after seeing others practising Falun Gong. After he learned the exercises, he started to practise them along with the practitioners. He did not want to leave for a couple of hours afterwards. He also concentrated his attention on learning the exercises very well. When his father saw him sitting still with two legs crossed next to us, he said, “I have lost him for quite some time and he turned out to be here.” He told us that this child often sits still with his two legs crossed at home. When they heard this knew that he was a special person.

Practitioners were deeply inspired by the activities at the multi-cultural festival in Apeldoorn City Park. We realized that there are still so many people waiting to learn about Dafa and there are still many people waiting to understand more about the truth.
