UK: Report on the SOS Car Tour to Rescue our Persecuted Family Members (4)

On July 11th, four Falun Gong practitioners from the UK SOS rescue team held the next leg of the 2003 UK SOS Car Tour to a stop that was not included in the original plan. This time, we came to the eastern coast of England and visited two famous cultural cities with a long-standing history.

After a short drive we arrived in the first city. In the City Council building, the lady in charge treated us in a friendly manner and after a short conversation, she grew interested in what we were doing and asked us about our plan and schedule for the car tour. She was especially interested in those cities that we had already visited on our tour. When she came to know that it was our second SOS car tour around England and after she had heard about the harsh treatment that our relatives and friends are enduring in China, she expressed concern and sympathy for them. She assured us that she would give her attention to this matter and it was her sincerest wish that we were successful in our efforts. Afterwards, we were invited to attend a group photo and give our appeal letters to each Member of the Council.

We next went to the pedestrian areas that are situated downtown. As there were a few Chinese residents there, we distributed booklets about the global spreading of Falun Gong together with details of the exercise sites in various places in England. We were suprised to find out that there is a western Dafa practitioner already living in this city. Seeing those nice people smiling and reading the materials about Dafa, we were truly happy for them. On our way, we found a Chinese herb store. One of our practitioners then gave some materials clarifying the truth about Dafa to the owner of the store who had some basic knowledge about the situation of the Chinese over here.

We then visited the largest local newspaper office. The editor of the newspaper welcomed our unexpected visit and was absorbed in writing down our conversation, especially the parts about the cases where our persecuted friends and family were successfully rescued; the fact that Jiang has a law suit filed against him in the federal court in the United States, and our visit to Borough Council that morning. She asked relevant questions from time to time and we answered them one by one. Finally, she expressed her hope that we could email her relevant photos so that she could write reports and articles on this subject. We joyfully agreed.

Walking away from the newspaper office, we had a short break and then continued to the next city. It took about two hours before we arrived in the centre of this city and found the building of the city Council. From a giant banner that we saw, we knew that there was currently a significant holiday festival. We walked into the building and found out from the receptionist that all Council officials were attending an activity. We described our purpose for coming and asked the employee to pass on those letters to each member of the Council. After walking out of the building, we found from our sharing that our righteous thoughts and righteous behaviour could encourage each member of the Council to understand the spread of Falun Gong throughout the world, the worldwide attention caused by the four-year cruel persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China, and the significance of the global trial pending against Jiang. At the same time, we also hoped that those members of the Council who care about human rights and support justice would attach their names to the appeal letters in order to support us.

We then distributed some Falun Dafa materials in the crowded streets and to the occupants of a Chinese herb store, which they happily accepted. We also realised that there were a lot of people with a connection to Falun Dafa and who were waiting to understand the truth to establish the basis for a beautiful future of their own.
