Some Experience Sharing on Calling to China to Clarify the Truth

Last year, fellow practitioners in Taiwan started to actively promote the activity of calling to China to clarify the truth to the precious Chinese people. I was hindered by fear, especially when I heard the other party speak dirty language on the line or scold me with bad language. Frustration and fear would come up in my heart. For me at that time, calling to China to clarify the truth was very difficult. So I did not do it for a long time. I thought, “Forget it, as I can do other work anyway. With the encouragement of some fellow practitioners, I tried it again this year.

Of course, I still had to overcome the fear I had before. At the beginning, I dialed with a trembling hand, my heart beat fast, my mind was blank, and the words I had prepared to say were all forgotten. I only heard abusive words and shouting. Then, with a slam, the phone was hung up. After a few days, I felt physically and mentally tired. So, I sat down to reflect on what had happened. The purpose of making the phone calls was to clarify the truth, but I did not even have the chance to utter a word. Then, how could I tell people the truth? What was wrong? In the “Fa-Lecture at the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference,” Master said, “Remember: Wherever a problem occurs, that's where you need to clarify the facts. [Applause] As for whether the result is good, don't look at the other party, it comes from your minds. If you want it to be good then it will be good. And if you don't intend to make it good, or if your mind is unsteady, then it won't be easy to rectify things. In other words, you need to have strong righteous thoughts. If you're thinking, 'I'm truly saving you. I'm truly telling you the facts," then the result will be good.'” Thinking about this, I started to readjust my attitude. Thus, after a period of time, I have gradually accumulated some experiences. The more I call, the easier it becomes. So, I would like to share my experiences with all.

First, I write down some brief points on a piece of paper, such as the information I want to tell the people on the phone and some possible questions they might ask. Then, I talk according to the circumstances. I often take the initiative in telling them that I am calling from Taiwan. During the conversation, I will try my best to guide them to the topics I want to talk to them about. Most of the time, they say something like “Unification,” “No separatism,” and so on. An on this point I say that I agree with them; “You’re right because we are all of Chinese descent. But do you know that I have asked a lot of citizens in Taiwan the same question. Most of them answered: unification is surely good, but if China uses the same means that it treats Falun Gong practitioners to people in Taiwan, we refuse to be unified!” Then, I seize the opportunity to tell them the truth of Dafa such as the case of the fake self-immolation, persecution, and the widespread practice of Dafa, etc.

In the course of making phone calls, I think one’s attitude is very important. If we call with the attitude of doing an everyday persons job, the effect will not be good. Master said in “Expounding on the Fa,” “Whenever a tribulation comes, you do not see it with the side of your original nature but view it completely with your human side. Evil demons then capitalize on this point and inflict endless interference and damage, leaving students in long-term tribulations.” From the Fa above I am enlightened that in the course of making phone calls, I have to direct the parts of me, which have been successfully cultivated, to clarify the truth, so that I can form indestructible strong righteous thoughts. If I cannot recognise this point with a clear mind, it is as if I tacitly agree with the evil, nourish the evil demons, and let them capitalise on the weak spots caused by my lack of control. Of course, talking with a gentle tone is also a requisite. We need to make the other party realise our kindness, and absolutely cannot be moved (guided) by their emotions. Master has taught us the Fa, “just by having your heart unaffected you will be able to handle all situations"(”Eliminate Your Last Attachment(s)"). If necessary, we can also make our tone filled with mighty virtue.

For example, one time, a policeman who was poisoned deeply yelled on the line with irresponsible words, “Falun Gong is… I witnessed them kill their wife, mother, and children…” I interrupted him at once, and seriously told him, “Please say things with your conscience. God is watching. Are you sure what you have said are facts? Who does not have parents and siblings? Who does not have a spouse and children? You really should be responsible for what you say.” My tone was sincere and filled with mighty virtue. At that time, he fell in silence. Therefore, before the field of righteous thoughts, lies are fragile and easily exposed.

If the other party is from my hometown, I will say, “Your accent is familiar to me. It makes me remember my father…” Thus, we will be closer to each other. Last week, I called one police station. At first, the officer on the other end of the line was impatient. But after he found out that we were fellow countrymen, he was glad to talk with me. Since I started clarifying the truth, I have always restrained myself from telling principles of high levels, in case the other will not understand. So I told him, “I have not taken any medicine since I started to cultivate six years ago. Jiang Zemin forbids people to practise cultivation, but can he give health to people? It is because cultivating Falun Gong benefits both my body and mind that I insist on cultivating up until now.” Then, he said, “The purpose of your cultivation is not pure! You said that you have cultivated for six years, but you are still at such a low level! You cannot pursue anything when you practise Falun Gong. The more you pursue, the less you get. I have read all the books that were confiscated.” I could not help but smiling. It seemed that I underestimated him. When our talk came to the end, he said, “Tell me something more about Falun Gong, even though I am an atheist.” I was deeply touched. How the clear minded parts of human beings painfully long for Dafa! I know that the course of clarifying the truth is actually the course of enlightening to the real selves of sentient beings.

Sometimes, I will not talk as a Falun Gong practitioner. One time, I called one women’s organisation in a city. The one who talked with me sounded like an elderly woman. I started by telling her that all international communities are concerned about the case of Falun Gong. Then, I further pleaded and related to her what terrible crimes that the Jiang regime had committed to female Falun Gong practitioners. I told her how the Masanjia Women’s Forced Labour Camp and the Heizuizi Women’s Forced Labour Camp in Changchun raped and violated female practitioners. I said, “We are both fellow countrywomen, how can we endure such things happening in broad daylight, and in civilised modern times? I believe that you are a sympathetic older woman. You wouldn’t be aware of such things without taking any action, would you?” There was a long silence at the other end of the line. Then, she murmured, “I cannot imagine it is true. I have heard about it before, but I could not believe it. However, you can rest assured. I will absolutely tell it to higher authorities. In any case, women’s basic rights are not allowed to be violated!”

Sometimes, before the end of the talk, when I heard that the other sincerely expressed his appreciation, tears welled up in my eyes. I was touched because of the kind thought they still have. Moreover, I am happy for another life being saved!

Above is a bit of my experience sharing of calling to China. Of course, not every phone call was so successful. Most important of all, we need the spirit of perseverance. In fact, calling to China is the course of our elevation. It is a course of reminding me to have righteous thoughts and deeds of a god at all times!
