To let more people know about the illegal arrest and abuse of US citizen Charles Li by the Jiang regime, Dafa practitioners from the San Francisco Bay area attended the annual California Fremont Art Festival on July 26 and 27. Practitioners distributed information about Falun Gong and collected signatures. Every year the festival attracts about 400,000 visitors and is the biggest free street festival in the country.

On Saturday, the streets around Fremont City Hall were crowded with visitors. Many people signed their names on the petition letter calling upon the US government to urge the Chinese government to free Charles Li immediately.

While some practitioners were demonstrating Falun Gong exercise, others distributed flyers, clarified the truth of Falun Gong and collected signatures to rescue Charles Li. A lady from Fresno read the information on the display board carefully and signed her name, saying she was totally against the Chinese government's persecution of Falun Gong. She also asked where she could learn Falun Gong in Fresno. She returned to the Falun Gong booth later and said, "I suggest you put up a display board with words like "Chinese Government Violates Human Rights, Please Help the Chinese People Gain Their Freedom." She said it would draw more people to sign the petition.

Many people said that they had learnt of Charles Li's arrest from media reports. They were shocked to learn that Charles Li was deprived of the right to call his fiancée and visits from US consulate officials as well as the torture and forced feeding he had suffered.
