Embassy of the Peoples Republic of China

Dublin 4
7th September, 2001
Your Excellency,
I wish to inform you that the City Council at the monthly meeting held on the 3rd September, 2001 agreed the following emergency motion:
Dublin City Council noted the visit of the Premier of China to Ireland and as always wishes visitors to our city, a good stay.
Noting Irelands proud international record in defence of human rights however, Dublin City Council expresses its strong wish that the Government of China would intensify efforts to improve human rights in that country and in particular calls for the immediate release of the Trinity student, Zhao Ming.
Yours Sincerely,
Kevin Dowling
Executive Manager
