We have learned that Qiu Lihua went on a hunger strike shortly after her arrest. Currently, she is extremely weak, yet the Taiyuan Detention Centre continues to imprison her. Dafa practitioners arrested by the Wanbolin Branch of the Bureau of Public Safety last October and November were intermittently sentenced without legal grounds. At that time, Qi Lihua, who was on intravenous infusion, was taken to court.
When she used all her remaining physical strength to loudly proclaim: "Falun Dafa is good!" the righteous field shocked the whole court and her trial was hastily ended. Arrested at the same time, Shijiazhuang Dafa practitioner Ding Lihong died in the Taiyuan Public Safety Hospital in December 2002 after suffering abuse during a month-long hunger strike. Another Shijiazhuang Dafa practitioner, Ke Guanrong, was released upon being persecuted to the point that his life was severely endangered. It has been nearly 10 months since Qiu Lihua was arrested. The state of her health is unknown.
Qiu Lihua started practising Dafa in 1996. Since 1999, when Dafa was slandered, she went to appeal for Falun Gong many times, but her efforts were hindered by the police at her workplace. She was persecuted in many ways, including being fined, held in detention, forced to do hard labour, and abducted from her home. Finally, in August 2001, Qiu Lihua was forced to leave her home and family and move to another city to avoid further persecution.
With their lives, Dafa practitioners are arousing people's consciences and sense of justice. As Qiu Lihua has said, "The evil can only persecute my body, but it can never change my heart that adheres to the truth." The good will be rewarded and the evil will meet with karmic retribution. All those who have done harm to Dafa and Dafa practitioners will be eventually brought to justice.
