Media Reports on "UK Falun Dafa Day" Celebrations

On the 23rd of August, UK Falun Gong practitioners celebrated the first “UK Falun Dafa Day” with exercise demonstrations and art performances at Chamberlain Square near the Town Hall in Birmingham. Not only did the performances attract lots of people, but they also received attention from the local media. “The Birmingham Post” used a picture of a meditating Falun Gong practitioner and of dancing performances by Falun Gong practitioners. The Birmingham Evening Mail’s coverage was equally generous with photos and accounts of the benefits many of the practitioners had obtained through practising Falun Gong. Meditating in the City – “Birmingham Evening Mail”, 22nd August

A Chinese practise, based on meditation, causing thousands of people to be thrown into forced labour camps. These practitioners, who won 1st prize at the Edinburgh Arts Festival for their fan dance and ancient Chinese ritual drumming performance, brought joy to the people in Chamberlain Square. The show started at 11 am.

Falun Gong is a traditional Chinese meditation practice.



“Birmingham Post” Photo report from UK Falun Dafa Day, 25th August

Birmingham's Chamberlain Square was a picture of serenity when practitioners of Falun Gong, a traditional form of Chinese meditation, visited the city on Saturday. Eliza Li practises a meditation exercise which helps to improve mind and body. Falun Gong was first made public in 1992 and quickly become popular as people were drawn by stories of great health improvements.
