The Epoch Times reports on September 4: After extensively contacting members of the legal profession in Canada, Falun Gong practitioners found out that they are able to begin the lawsuit against Jiang and the "610 Office" in Canada. Zhou Limin, the spokesperson of Falun Gong practitioners in Canada, said that many lawyers who pay attention to the human rights situation of Falun Gong practitioners in China are willing to represent Falun Gong practitioners. Currently, practitioners have received responses from many well known law firms that have shown great interest in suing Jiang Zemin and the "610 Office" in Canada. A number of lawyers have also given many helpful suggestions to Falun Gong practitioners.
In British Columbia, one lawyer with extensive experience in human rights cases expressed great interest and attention upon hearing about the case. After watching a VCD that exposes Jiang Zemin's persecution of Falun Gong, he was enthusiastic about the case and hoped to be involved. He stated "that it would be a great honor for his law firm to accept the case." He also expressed that he had been looking forward to having this opportunity and promised that the cost of the lawsuit would not be an issue.
One very well known human rights lawyer in central Canada expressed positively that it is realistic to sue Jiang in Canada. He provided very detailed legal information as well as suggestions to Falun Gong practitioners.
At the same time, the lawsuit against Jiang is progressing quickly and extensively in other areas. In Montreal, one lawyer was shocked upon hearing about the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners from a practitioner of Falun Gong. The lawyer commented that Jiang''s behaviour is reminiscent of Hitler's. He expressed that he could at least be a member of a think-tank that would give suggestions and voluntarily offer help to Falun Gong practitioners. Accordingly, Falun Gong practitioners have received a great amount of suggestions from this lawyer, including forming a think-tank composed of lawyers and scholars in suing Jiang.
According to Zhou Limin, the Canadian Falun Gong practitioners who were persecuted in China, such as Wang Yuzhi, Lin Shenli, Zhang Kunlun, and Zhu Ying etc, are all willing to be plaintiffs in the case.
