On September 8th, the day before the head of China’s “610 Office” Luo Gan arrived on the second stop of his visit to Northern Europe, Finland’s “Capital Daily” newspaper published two stories in its international news section about the genocide lawsuits filed by Falun Gong practitioners against high-level Chinese officials. Once again, Luo Gan has become a target for condemnation by the European public and media.

Finnish people learn the truth about Falun Gong

Report by Finnish Newspaper on Falun Gong

Finland’s “Capital Daily” mentioned in these articles that Luo Gan, head of the “610 Office” that was established by the Communist Party of China for the purpose of persecuting Falun Gong, is regarded as one of the primary culprits responsible for the persecution of Falun Gong in China. The “610 Office” is an organisation with many striking similarities to the Gestapo. Reports have pointed out that human rights lawyer Georges-Henri Beauthier has represented Falun Gong practitioners while filing a lawsuit on the 20th of August, accusing Jiang Zemin and those who are primarily in charge of the 610 office, of committing crimes of torture, crimes against humanity and genocide. Luo Gan is one of those accused.

According to the news from Finland, Luo Gan and others arrived in Helsinki, the Finnish capital, on the evening of the 9th of September. Before the arrival of Luo Gan, local Falun Gong practitioners obtained special permission from the Finnish police and held a candlelight vigil in front of the hotel where he was staying.

Like with Jiang Zemin’s visit to Germany in April 2002, during Luo Gan’s visit to Finland only photos were allowed to be taken by official photographers. There was no press conference where reporters could ask questions. The media believes that this is to avoid the sensitive issue of human rights violations. Luo Gan left Finland on the 12th of September.
