In contrast to all fairs in other cities, we gave away all our materials free of charge. Learning the exercises was also free. A woman asked us somewhat skeptically how we can afford this. I pointed to the practitioners manning the booth and said: This one is a physician; that one is a researcher at an institute; the other one an economist. We all have normal jobs and incomes. We use our spare time to give testimony to and distribute materials for Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance because we believe in it. She showed tremendous respect after my words and wanted to learn the exercises.
Another interesting thing happened at this fair. A couple of men measured the energy in this hall with a special system. Every time they passed out booth they noticed a peculiar energy phenomenon. They repeated this measurement several times and always had the same readings and discussed this in surprised tones. Curious, they looked in the direction of our booth several times. When I noticed that, I went over to them and explained to them this high-level Buddha School cultivation system, telling them that, from the very beginning, people who practice this system gain large amounts of energy. They found this quite interesting and asked many questions. They concluded by saying that they would have to investigate this type of qigong further.
For the duration of the two-day fair we told all visitors non-stop about Falun Gong, the spreading of this practice all over the world and about the persecution. Everyones expression was one of respect for the upright deportment of Falun Gong practitioners. I became aware of peoples true hearts, which opened themselves. It seemed that their joy at receiving this information was genuine.
After the fair concluded, we received numerous telephone calls from people wanting to find out more about Falun Gong and also from people who wanted to learn the exercises.
